EPILOGUE
Scott and Joe were lounged on Joe's couch, eating their own, pint sized, ice cream tubs.
"So he killed her because he loved her so much?" Joe asked.
Scott shrugged. "The whole Age of Chivalry was irrational. Knights, maidens, and thank goodness we've moved through the Reformation and the enlightenment and into the age of reason." He pointed to Joe's X-rays. "Do you see what I mean?"
"Not at all. I gotta tell you, I think they had it pretty good idea with the whole chivalry thing, you know, open cart doors, kill dragons, small hearts..."
"You still on vicodin?"
"Yeah, a little."
"Okay, what I'm trying to show you is that your doctor's wrong. You've been mis-diagnosed."
"What? Give me that!"
"Just a small misalignment. I'd be happy to fix it for you!"
"No, no, no. Last time you did that, I almost ended up in a wheel chair!"
"Don't you trust me?"
"You know what? Let's not make it about trust."
"Well, It's a fact, it's not what I make of it. You ready?" Scott asked as he stood up, which made Joe get up since he was partially laying on him.
"Oh, definitely not ready!" He snorted but got up anyways. Scott wrapped his arms around his neck again as a knock on the door is heard. "It's open!" Scott ignored the knock and cracked his back. "BONES!"
Perotta walked in just to see this. "Oh! I didn't...I thought you said the door was open..."
Scott shrugged. "It was and is. I'm just done here, on my way out, actually."
"Oh! No, no, no. I just, um, brought some chilli I made, but, um, I'll just leave that there, and you can, um...are you all right, Joe?"
Scott rolled his eyes. "He's fine now."
Joe shook his head. "I gotta tell you, I'm a little afraid to move..."
Scott scoffed. "He's fine. Please, you stay."
Perotta shook her head and started out as she but the chilli down. "Oh. I can't. You stay."
Scott looked at his phone. "I gotta go. I can't stay." And with that, they both left and Joe deflated a little.
"Wait... Now nobody's staying? Well now I'm just a lonely little omega- OKAY I HAVE GOT TO STOP PERUSING THE INTERNET AND FINDING THOSE THINGS."
