"Rayn... Did you have a vision again?" Kadi asked into her cell phone's receiver.
Rayn's gaze on the other end narrowed angrily. "Why do you ask?"
"Because at this point in time I can use all the insight I can get," Kadi replied somewhat harshly. After all that was going on in her house, her country, and her brain, resistance was the last thing she needed. "Now I know you saw something. Otherwise you wouldn't have come in Alfred's place yesterday. Now please, tell me what's up."
The breath Rayn let out was resigned. Tired, even. "In Basque, then."
And so, the two switched to an ancient and difficult to understand language so they wouldn't be overheard. True, they were both alone, but when such weird things happen recently it tends to raise people's paranoia levels up higher and higher.
"You're... You're serious," Kadi breathed afterwards.
"Yeah, I am. That's what I saw."
"Oh... Okay, I think I need to take some time and interpret that with magic," was Kadi's reply before she hung up and bolted for her stone-walled room.
In her living room, on her couch, Rayn sighed and also hung up. She wasn't terribly miffed at being cut off, but Kadi's reaction worried her. The dream itself was cause to worry enough, but with someone like Kadi sounding so worried...
Heaven fordbid something like that nightmarish premonition was going to present itself in reality.

"Where did all my steampunk clothes go?" Kate grumbled to herself as she dressed in sweatpants and a large T-shirt after having taken the first uncomplicated shower in days. Sometimes the hot water would run out without any probably cause; other times all her bathing supplies would have disappeared only to reappear in the most random of places. Once four spiders (four!) appeared in the tub while she was showering.
The short, raven-haired human was starting to get really T'ed off.
And her suspicions were starting to look more and more plausible by the hour. Carlea.
'She did declare that she didn't like seeing me and Prussia together. I can't see why it would be anyone except her doing all of this to me. Unless Prussia's been feeling extra hilarious lately.'
"But I swear, I'm going to strangle the bitch one of these days," Kate vowed with a fist raised to the sky. Well, ceiling.
"It's already been a week and a half. How much longer until they find the right dimension?" she wondered while opening a cupboard and looking for her jewelry.
It was. All. Gone.
"Who the fuck took my jewelry?" Kate all but screamed from the basement she shared with Prussia.
In the room above, Carlea giggled to herself and pretended to skim her magazine with little interest. 'Oooh~ If only you knew, Katie~'
"Kate? Vould you mind going to zhe corner store for some milk?" Germany asked a few minutes later when she passed by the kitchen doorway. She poked her head in and made eye contact.
"Sure, is it for a cake you're making?"
"Ja, it's for zhe meeting tomorrow," Germany explained. "Zhere's money in mein vallet."
Kate found his wallet in his coat pocket and took out enough bills to buy a carton of milk. "I'll be back soon, then."
"Vatch for traffic," Germany reminded her as she was leaving through the front door.
