do you ever forget
that sometimes there are people
in your life that are simply not meant
to stay.
they are there to show you what
to do and not to do.
they are to guide you through
good and bad alike.
they are not meant to be
permanent
like we wish them to be.
they are meant to make us smile
for a short while,
and then they are carried away
like the amber in a flame long blown out.
they are created to help and to love forever,
but not for you;
for you and i, they are temporary.
for you and i, we lose people
over
and
over
because they were not meant to be
permanent.
no matter how badly,
how achingly
we wish for them to stay,
they will always go.
