Different but Destined

Chapter 11.

After a lot of arguing, we decide to go to a little restaurant out of town.

We pull up outside the small place and head inside.

"Well this is nice.." Dan says in a mocking tone while pointing to the chipped paint and crumbled sign.

"Not been funny Dan but I did suggest we go to Pics." I push past him into the restaurant. It's a small area with wooden tables and chairs scattered around. It's not the nicest place I've been.

"Don't be moody with me Bell, I'm only here for a week." He overly smiles while taking me in a hug I reject.

He laughs and sits down on the hard wooden chairs, I follow his lead and grab a menu for us both.

"So how's mum doing?" I start the conversation while deciding what to eat.

"She's..doing good." He nods. I look up to him and meet his eyes, he darts them away from me to the bar.

"Tell me Dan." I demand, I know whenever he doesn't look at me he's not telling the truth.

"Okay, mum and dad had a massive fight and he's coming next week and is trying to find you." He whispers the last bit.

"No." I look up to his eyes.

"Yes Bella. I know you better than anyone and I know that's a hard thing for you." He looks at his hand. "She didn't tell him. I made her not."

"How do you not find this hard?" I sigh.

"Because I'm not in contact with him anymore, for all he knows I'm not alive anymore." He shrugs.

"What?" I gasp. I never knew that, I always knew they weren't in contact anymore because of what an awful person he is but never that he didn't know he was alive.

"Mum told him, to get him off my back." I stare at him with shock - so he thinks Dan is dead.

"Okay." I try to soak in the new information.

"Please Bell..just forget about it." He gives me a comforting smile and I nod back trying to.

"Anyways how's school?" He smiles as we start a better conversation.

I tell him about what classes I do, my friends and so on. We also talk about him and home and what he's been up to lately. After the conversing we order our meals and finish them in a heartbeat.

"I'm paying." I firmly say as I get my money out. I sign to a waiter for the bill and he nods.

He comes over as I pay with a tip. We walk out of the restaurant and climb into Dans car.

"By the way, there's a party this.." I begin to say when he cuts me off.

"Yes, yes! I've always wanted to go to a college party!" He cheers as I roll me eyes.

"You didn't even know I was going to invite you." I smirk as I look at him.

"Don't play games with me." He warns while keeping his eyes on the road. I laugh and look out the window.

Twenty minutes later we come to the dorms and head inside.

As I approach the door I hear my phone go off inside, I unlock it and walk in - straight to my phone.

From Lou-

Meet me for food? I need to talk to you.

To Lou-

I've just had it, but I can still meet you?

I'm getting worried now, what if it's bad. What news could she possibly bring to me that's bad though?

My phone chimes with another text saying great. I say we'll meet at the big part near by and tell Dan I'll be back in an hour.

Once I enter the big large space of grass my eyes land on Lou and I walk over.
