"Hurry up, Eleanor. I'll give you a few minutes before sending your father to get you." her mother's voice come from the doorway, why did she insist in opening the door? she thought.

Eleanor sighed. Today was a new day. She was determined to get over her stupid boyfri...ex boybriend and everything Joey related. Hoping that her mother would leave her alone, Eleanor come out of bed and grabbed her mother's hand, squeezing it ultil she felt better. She smiled knowingly at her and then blew her a kiss, whispering that she would be fine ans she finally left the room.

When Eleanor's parents got home the night before, her mother asked her why she wasn't with Joey, and when she told her, her mother went on a speech about how he didn't deserved her and called him an idiot for letting her go.

It didn't make her feel better, because honestly, there was nothing in need of repair.

"This is why you should stay away from guys like that, El," Thea said.

Eleanor nodded in agreement. She had Thea's advices - and she was sure Thea would to well to remember that.

"Don't worry doll, we're here for you." Mark gave her a reasuring smile and squeezed her small hand.

"But why does everyone thinks that I'm hurt?" Eleanor said out load to anyone in particular.

"You don't need to pretend with us, you know that right?"

     "I'm not pretending Thea."

The three friends were seated in the middle of a café that had just opened near Mark's house. The café was straight out of a movie, cozy, stylish in the way it wasn't over the top but comfortable. The fact that the food was fantastic didn't hurt either. Eleanor looked around, hoping they weren't loud enough to be overheard, she could not care about Joey, but she still didn't want her entire high school to know. There was no need for her to be the new gossip.

Thea opened her mouth to say something when someone cleared their throat behind their table. "Can I borrow your phone? Mine's broken and I need to tell my mom I just saw an angel." the boy said in a british accent.

"What?" Eleanor asked, gaping at how completely cheesy the line was. She looked over her shoulder, thinking that maybe, she was not the persons he was talking too - but he was looking right at her,

"It sounded better in my head," he mumbled. "But it was better than what I wanted to say."

"And what was that?" she asked, thanking God that it was meant for her. Eleanor wasn't blind. She still could see how good looking the boy in front of her was. Light-brow hair, pale skin and blue eyes? Yeah, she could look at him all day.

"Marry me." he grinned. When he smiled like that, her heart started pounding and she felt like she couldn't breath.

Eleanor rolled her eyes as Mark and Thea giggled beside her.

"I'm Isaac," he said, holding his hand out for her to take.

"Eleanor" she took his hand and she felt her cheeks burning. Isaac said her name, just once, as if to make sure he wouldn't forget it.

     "Well then Eleanor, will you?"

"What? No." Apparently, 'what' was the only word she was capable of speaking. She  really wouldn't mind he if staid next to her all day.

He looked at Eleanor, intense blue eyes meeting hers. As if reading her mind, he murmured "If you give your number to someone in this café I'll leave you alone. If not you'll have to agree to go out with."

"And what makes you think I'll do any of that?"

"Because I know, you want to go out with me." he smirked.

Eleanor spent five seconds lookig at him, and then turned her head towards a table with three guys and let out a whistle trying to get attention from one of them.

One of them, looked in her direction and Eleanor was on her feet, making her way towards him.

He smiled when she reached the table "Hi"

"Hey," she smiled back "Do you have a girlfriend?" he shook his head no. "Great." she said and taking a pen from her purse she grabbed his hand and wrote her number on it.

He looked down at the seven numbers in red ink on his palm and then looked back at her "Call me." she told him before turning around to go back to her table.

"Don't worry, I will!" he called after her.

When she got to her table, three pair of eyes were staring at her.

At last she said, "Guess you'll have to go out alone."

"I guess." He grinned and was gone.

She sat down, digesting what had just happened. "Where did this confindence come from?" Mark asked in a curious tone.

"I guess Joey changed me after all."
