"I miss my baby," Lamia cried out.

"Girl the season is basically over. They not making playoffs so you gone have him to yourself."

"I know, but I miss him right now. He ain't face time me yet."

Lamia phone rang.

"Its him." She smiled.

"Hey daddy," she told him as she walked off.

Elia was grateful that Lamia walked away. She did not want to know what they would talk about. To Elia, Lamia seemed like she needed some good sex.

"Elia," Lamia called out.

"Huh?" She waited for her friend to respond. "Don't call my name if you not gone respond heffa."

A few minutes had passed and Lamia walked out the room.

"What did you want?"

"Oh! Right Ty told me to tell you that Devin said face time him. Now I know something went on between y'all that sound a little fishy to me."

"And you just love to be nosy. I never said I was going to call him. Plus, he prolly trying to co-parent and I'm not here for it."

"Shouldn't they build a bond? I mean Armani is going to want to call somebody daddy one day. I mean every child does."

"And that's what I'm here for. I can be mommy-daddy or momdaddy. However, you want to put it."

"But, Lia you have to understand where Devin's coming from. He wants to build a bond with his only child."

"No Lamia I understood where he was coming from 2 years ago. When, he had a phone conversation calling me a hoe. Oh! Yeah when he said I can abort my child "his only born son". I mean we didn't even have to date. He could have just been there for "his only born son". But, being the little bitchy boy he is I'm not for the bullshit."

She put quotation marks around that, because she didn't believe it one bit. He'd probably been sticking his penis in everything that walked and breathed.

"I was young and dumb. He was young and dumb, but at no point did I want to call it quits on Armani. You see Devin did that before Armani was even born.

And I can't put that aside. Yes something happened the other day. No we didn't have sex, he ate me out. I regret the shit. Its like every time I'm by him I'm emotional Devin was my first. My first love and the first person I had sex with. I waited that long to experience sex and I ended up getting pregnant. Not only did I get pregnant but it was by the wrong motherfucker."

"I understand Elia. I'm going to always support you. I get it that you're still hurt. It hurts me seeing you like this."

"Well, if you understand you would know why I don't want my son meeting him. Or calling him daddy."

"I get Lia. Just give it thought. You don't won't Mani to have to suffer from his mother and father younger and dumber mistakes."

"Yeah I know Armani can't suffer from our mistakes. That's why he won't know of them."

"So, are you going to tell Armin about you and Devin hook up?"

"It wasn't a hook up. Devin did something I did nothing."

"But you didn't stop him."

"You're right, and that's my mistake. I'm going to tell him though I'm not afraid to tell him."

"Right be a woman about your mistake."

"Literally. Hopefully all goes well."

They hugged before Elia left. She went to pick her son up from daycare.

"Mommy pwease we go get ice cream?"

"Yes Mani anything for you." She placed a kiss on her son head.

They headed to the car and she buckled him into his car seat.

"Lia that's you?" She turned around and saw Devin.

She mentally groaned. She knew she had to put on a goodie goodie act in front of her son. She thought he'd be on the road trip with his team.

"Oh! Devin nice to see you again. Shouldn't you be, I don't know on the road with your team?" She said through gritted teeth.

"You know I probably should be with them. I'll look into that." he said sarcastically. "Oh it was nice seeing you too." He walked past her. "And who is this little fella?" He went to shake Armani hand.

Elia knew he was doing this to be petty.

"This is my son Armani."

"Hey Armani. You remember seeing me?"

Armani smiled and shook his head.

"My name is also Armani. Well sort of. My name is Devin Armani Booker. Kind of ironic right?"

He turned and glared at Elia.

"But, I don't want you calling me Devin. Hopefully we'll figure out what you should call me later on in life. That's if your mom ever come to her senses. Here's a dollar."

Devin reached in his pocket and handed him a dollar.

"Bye little man."

He walked up to Elia. "Don't worry Lia I got more money to spend on the two people I love the most." He kissed her temple.

Devin began walking off.

"Devin wait," she walked up to him. "Don't you ever talk about me to my son."

"Don't you mean our so --." He was cut off.

"No I said it right the first time. My son."

Elia walked off and got in the car.

"Now how about that ice cream?"
