"I can't believe she was being unfaithful to me." Devin told Tyler.
"Nigga do you know how dumb you sound right now? Y'all aren't even together bro. Plus, if you consider y'all a relationship you been very "unfaithful" too. And you're jumping to conclusions."
"Blah, blah, blah I got to jump to conclusions it's who I am." He said walking back and forth.
"Okay first Dev take a chill pill because you're freaking me out."
"I am not. It's just that I love her man."
"Wait you do? Like no joking?"
"Yeah," he shook his head.
"Awe well to be honest with you I can't tell and neither can she probably." Tyler said being straight forward.
"Well I do Ty and I want to cry tears of joy when I see her walking down that aisle to become Mrs.Booker."
"Ha! Yeah Book bro you got big dreams."
"I do?" He questioned. "I'll be back bro don't go nowhere."
Devin left the house. He was on a mission. Devin pulled into the jewelry store going to the rings.
"Oh my godddd.... You're Devin Booker," the lady said yes.
"Yes I am. I wanted to look at your engagement rings."
"You're getting married?"
"No," he lied. Those were his hopes though. To marry the woman of his dreams. "For a friend." He continued.
Devin looked at the ring that looked the most expensive because he wanted her finger to scream yes. He also went with something big that he knew Elia would like.
He took the drive home uncertain about his actions, but happy he went through with his thoughts.
"Damn it took your bum ass long enough," Tyler said as Devin walked through the door. "I was dead ass about to leave."
"Okay before you call me dumb," he said.
"You're dumb," Tyler said. "I already said it now what do yo ass want. You know how long I been sitting here? Lamia ass didn't even believe I was over your crib I had to face time her, so save me the lecture when I get home by speeding this process up."
"Well nigga if you would have never just talked so much your ass would've been out the door right now. But, on another note."
Devin pulled the box from out of his back pocket and showed Ty. "Ty man I was serious she is who and what I want."
Tyler mouth dropped. He knew he should have stopped Devin, because when he starts talking there is no stopping.
"But, why Dev? What if she doesn't fe--," Devin cut him off.
"Don't even finish your statement. I know what you were about to say, and I thought about that. Well I guess I'll just have to see. There is a lot of history between us."
"Sometimes the history is there, but the love isn't bro."
"I appreciate the concern. Let me learn this lesson by myself bro."
"Alright good luck bro all love," they bro hugged. "I'll get Armani for you." Tyler left.
Here goes nothing........
•••••
Devin walked to Elia's house, and knocked on the door rather than using the doorbell."Now who the hell knocking? I have a doorbell you know." Elia said as she came face to face with Devin.
"What!?" She said with sass.
"Can I come in please? and I won't take no for an answer it's important."
Elia moved out the way. Devin stepped into her home.
"Here I brought these for you," he said handing her some white, and red roses her favorite.
Although, they were just a minor hookup in college he still remembered what they talked about. Her goals, favorite food, color, cars etc.
He told her that his only goal was to make it pro to the NBA. Then, he said once he got that goal he wanted another one. Which, was to make a family with her, spoil her and their child.
But, Elia always denied it. "Devin I'm not your girlfriend you should be making these promises to her."
"Thanks for the gesture." She said accepting the flowers. "Now wha--"
Elia was cut off by Devin getting on one knee. Pulling out a box. Her eyes widened.
"Lia just be quiet and let me talk," she said nothing else.
"Lia when I first met you I knew I wanted, and needed you. I know I was in a relationship and I didn't want to let it go because me and her had years. But, I realized years doesn't mean shit. You can know someone for 10 years and they'll still fuck you over.
That is when I realized when you got drunk at that party the sex is what we both wanted not just you. I took up for you at the party because I never wanted to see anyone hurt you. Or for you to hurt yourself.
And when I had that phone conversation I was kidding. You weren't just some random chick. You were a girl that came into my life and began to steal my heart. You pulled out things in me I never knew I endured.
I wanted a family I swear I did. I wanted to be happy with you I swear I did. I wanted the best of both worlds for both of us, and Armani. And I still want all that stuff with you and only you.
It killed me to see you had Armin. I had no one I was sleeping with this girl, and that girl trying to get you out of my mind. But, I realized I couldn't use other girls to get you out my mind because they aren't you.
I almost beat myself up knowing I missed portions of my child's life. I can never forget what you told me about the pregnancy scares you had. That scares me because I could have lost both the people I love the most.
When we reconnected I felt a spark. And I know that sounds very cliché but it is the truth. Elia I love you, and I want to be a family with our son. Living in our house, loving one another til' death do us part. I don't want to be the "father of your child", "baby daddy" or "sperm donor". Elia I want to be your "HUSBAND" and make you my Mrs.Booker."
By this time both Elia, and Devin were crying. Emotions were all over the place.
"Elia Towns will you marry me?"
Longer Chapter enjoy! Haven't updated in a while. Things are definitely turning up.
