"Yo Shaw!" I turned back to the sound of someone calling me. "Can I talk to you for a sec?" Brian Shelton motioned me to follow him and I did. As I caught up to him and walked beside Brian, people were staring at us. I mean, what else would they do? He's the captain of the soccer team and I'm just an unknown and unpopular tomboy girl with surprisingly good looks.
"What do you want to talk about?" I asked as we were standing behind the school building.
"OK, you know there's this dance coming up," he looked up at me. He seemed nervous.
"By coming up, I'm assuming you mean in three more months?" I chuckled and he did too.
"Yeah, well, I wanted to get to you first, before anyone else did," he looked down at his hands and looked up at me again, "No one did yet, right?"
"No one did yet what?"
"Ask you," I sucked a breath through my teeth as I knew what was coming next.
"Mason Shaw, would you be my date for the three-more-months upcoming dance?" He grinned but I could see his lips quivering in anxiety. I chuckled at his reference and smiled.
"I don't usually hang out with someone who uses my jokes," Brian's grin suddenly changed into a small frown, "But you know what, I can count you as an exception."
"Is that a yes?" Brian asked, his hand slightly trembling.
"Yes, I'd be honored to be your date for the three-more-months upcoming dance," I smiled as he grinned from ear to ear until the edge of his eyes crinkled.
"Well, I better get to class," I said, waving goodbye, "I'll see you around"
Brian smiled and waved back, "See you!"
I turned around and started walking towards my next class when I suddenly collided with someone's torso and it caught me off balance. I tried to hold on to something before I fall on my butt when a pair of muscled arms held onto my waist.
I looked up to see who dared to put their arms around me and my eyes were locked with the most gorgeous hazel eyes I have ever seen in my whole entire life. A pair of hazel eyes that could swallow you up whole.
I snapped back into reality and steadied myself up. "Thanks," I said while straightening my shirt awkwardly. I looked back up to face Aiden Galloway, the most popular guy in Westland High School. Realizing his arms were still around me, I shuffled my body and he let go of his embrace.
"Why have I never met you?" Aiden asked out of the blue. I stood back in surprise and chuckled.
"Maybe because I always cover myself with my invisibility cloak when I'm around you and your friends," I remarked and he chuckled.
"Hate to say this to you, but you weren't accepted in Hogwarts, sweetheart," He joined in on the sarcasm and I can't help but laugh.
"Anyways, thanks again," I said, waving back at him and walking away.
"Hey, wait!" I heard him call back at me but the bell rang so I ignored him and entered the classroom.
When I walked in, everybody was already on their seats. I took my regular seat in the middle row right beside the window. I took out my books and started reviewing last week's topic.
I was busy with my clauses when someone slid to the seat next to mine. I didn't want to look like a curious cat so I kept my eyes on my notebook until the person tugged on my shirt.
I turned to the person only to see Aiden smiling cheekily. What does he want?
"Hi there," He said while putting his books on his desk.
