"Shift, new girl." The grating voice of the school bully growled next to her. "Shift." He repeated, looking down at the small girl hunched on a chair.
She looked up, her gold-speckled grey eyes boring into his dull blue ones. With a nod she stood up and closed her eyes, steadying her breathing. Grey sparks surrounded her as she shifted. There was a flash and her frail form was replaced by a snarling grey wolf. He stepped back as she approached him. He shifted, but his form was a dog, a lot smaller than hers. She leapt for him.
