{chapter 27}

My breath hitched as my throat closed. Every hair on the back of my neck stood up while I froze.

The alpha Rogue. The infamous, the unkown - the monster. It felt good to put a face to him after all of my years.

A middle aged man, who looked around the same age as my father. A shaggy, curly mess twisted into a nest on his head. He has a strangely cut beard, long in some places, but short in others. His eyes were a beautiful blue, I'd admit - but they still make my legs wobble.

How many people has this man killed? I keep asking myself.

Hundreds of people, maybe thousands. Although he looked like a normal person, I knew he wasn't. This man has murdered so many innocent people. He is the man behind all my torture, the days I spent underground helpless. He is responsible for kidnapping Ares, Leroy, Angel and Sapphire. This man, standing in front of me was accountable of so much damage.

He made me feel sick.

He stod still for a moment, as we all stared at him. This could be a trap, for all we know. He could have lured us into a trap.

"Hello." Landon stands tall, puffing his chest out. His arms never leave his side, he looks like a soldier in training.

"Landon." The Alpha smirks, coming closer, but never exeding five feet away from us.

I guess it would be stupid to ask how he knew Landon's name. My old pack was a big deal. Landon is now in charge, it would be stupid not to know his name.

"Shall we talk then?" My brother asks, never blinking. Maybe he's too scared to close his eyes, I think I would be.

"Fire away." The Alpha says, a smile on his sleezy face. His voice is raspy, a horrible scratchy voice. He makes guns with his fingers, pretending to 'fire away'.

Only he laughs.

"What do you want?" My brother asks. Not letting the stress get to him.

"Tsk, tsk. Very broad question. I want a lot of things; a BMW, a hot girlfriend, world domination." He laughs, but again, no one laughs with him. "I'm kidding  about the world domination thing, by the way."

I could see it in Landon's eyes that he was becoming frustrated. But who wouldn't? This Alpha is treating this like a silly little game when it's not. Lives are at stake.

"What do you want from us?" I speak up, trying to fill in for my brother before he says anything bad. "Attack us 16 years ago, and only come back now. Why?"

The man looks at me for a moment, puzzeled.

"Are you Aurora?" He chuckles, pointing between Landon and I. "Your little sister?"

I nod.

"Oh this is good." He responds, licking his thin lips.

"You didn't answery question." I stated, folding my arms by my chest. No way was I showing fear to this guy. He could smell it from miles.
