I ran through the doors of the cafe five minutes early. He wasn't here. Where could he be? I threw on my apron and shot Seokjin-hyung a text.
From Jiminie
Where are you hyung?
I looked up as the bell rung hoping to see Seokjin. Unfortunately it was just Jungkook. "Jungkook-ah, have you seen Jin-hyung." Jungkook shook his head. "He didn't come back after his lunch break yesterday hyung. I assumed something came up and he has to leave early." I face palmed myself. "Jungkook-ah. We have to go and look for him. I know he likes to eat his lunch and observe the predators on the other side of the wall, what if something happened to him?!" Jungkook's white bunny ear flicked but his expression remained the same. I grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him, "Do you like Jin-hyung Kookie? He reached out to you, gave you a place to stay and cared for you like a mother while working at a job. You were sixteen Kook-ah. Sixteen. Sophomore in high school, yet Jin-hyung took you in. A complete stranger. As for me, I owe Jin-hyug my life. I used to be a stripper. I sold my body to people Kookie. Jin-hyung came to me one night and paid to have me for the night. What I didn't know, was the Jin-hyung had given up a years worth of his savings to free me. I was mo loner a stripper, yet I went home and tried to seduce Jin-hyung. Jin-hyung told me what he had done and that I didn't have to do this anymore. At first I was mad, then sad, then overjoyed. I cried myself to sleep in Jin-hyungs arms that night. Does that mean anything to you Kookie?" By now I was crying. My life saver was in trouble. Jungkook wiped the tears and led me outside the cafe. "Jimin-hyung. We can look for Jin-hyung together. He means so much to us. I am sure we will find him." I smiled and sniffled. Jungkook took my hand and we ran to the wall. No people were in sight. Jungkook and I climbed to the top of the wall where Jin-hyung liked to sit and watch. I found a piece of grass lodged in the wall along with a clover stem. I then saw something else lodged in the wall. A photo. Of us. The year we had all met. I pulled it out and showed it to Jungkook. I knew Jin-hyung always carried that picture around, it could be no one else. But where did he go? I heard a growl below my feet. I looked down and saw a predator standing below me. The predator smiled showing canine teeth. I found myself squeaking in distress and holding onto Jungkook. My tail twitched nervously from side to side. God was not on my side today, because this hybrid was some sort of cat hybrid. I hate cats the most. I am one of the only surviving mouse hybrids of The Mousetrap. That is what brought us all together. Jin-hyung survived The Daisy Meadow Massacre. I survived The Mousetrap. Jungkook-ah survived the Bunny Binge Murder. We were the last as we knew of our species, we stuck together. The cat hybrid and I made eye contact and I felt something in the pit of my stomach. I suddenly felt faint and I felt myself falling forward. I saw Jungkook reaching for me and I saw the sun shining so brightly. Then darkness.
