Sasha fell asleep again. Nick was flipping through channels when Ryan showed up at her bedroom door.

"What are you doing here?!" asked Ryan.

Nick pointed at Sasha sleeping and motioned for him to pipe down. He got up and closed the door behind them.

"How did you get in here?"

"One I am a trained agent remember, two, she left the gate and door open. I have already closed it though."

"Leave Ryan."

"Why?"

"Well I was in bed with her am I not. You snooze you lose man."

Ryan felt defeated. Was this why she left without saying goodbye. So that she could hook up with Nick. Now that he wasn’t a job anymore.

"Fine, this is not over yet. For all I know you just got here myself."

Nick made sure he didn’t flinch.

"For all you know I was making love with her all night," replied Nick.

Ryan closed his eyes. Breath in breath out.

"You win this round Summers. Remember that Sasha and I go way back," he said as he left.

"Were you talking to someone?" asked Sasha.

"Uh yeah," answered Nick briefly while holding up his phone.

Sasha just assumed that he was on the phone with someone.

Her phone rang again. This time she quickly uncovered the phone from underneath the pillows. Nick lunged towards the bed only to land on Sasha while she was already saying hello.

"Hello Sash. Ryan here. What are you doing?"

"Hey Rye. Nothing much. What's up?"

"Remember we have a date?"

"We do?"

"I'll pick you up at 7 tonight ok. Wear something nice, not like that is something you don’t usually do anyway."

"Yeah sure I guess. See you then."

"Who was that?" asked Nick while still lying on top of her.

"Ryan and em Nick.. you are crushing me."

"Why is he calling?"

"Didn't you hear I am seeing him tonight and you are still crushing me."

"Where are you guys going?"

"I don't know and you are still frigging crushing me. Get off me Nick."

"Oh sorry."

Nick was pouting.

"What is up with the fish face Nick?"

"I brought you breakfast but he gets to spend the night with you."

"Who said he was going to spend the night? It is just dinner."

Nick stayed mum.

"Can  I stay here then?" Nick asked.

"What do you mean?"

"If he isn’t going to spend the night and since I got you breakfast, can I stick around until you come back?"

"Whatever for?"

"To make sure that you are safe."

"Nick, I can take care of myself."

"You never know."

"Suit yourself. You know where everything is. So don’t touch anything."

The day passed quickly. They had a swim then had lunch.

Sasha had a shower and slipped into a Christopher Kane dress.

She got downstairs to wait for Ryan to pick her up.

Nick whistled.

"Oooh mama."

"What are you doing Nick?"

"That's a compliment Sasha."

The doorbell rang.

"Bye Nick. See you when I get home then. Remember don’t touch anything else."

They arrived at the restaurant close to 8pm.

"This is a really nice place Ryan."

"Not as nice as you look tonight Sasha. You ready to order?"

"Yup, I am famished."

They had dinner while they chatted about their summer fun, their jobs and everything else.

They had finished dessert and were walking back towards Ryan's Ferrari.

"I had fun tonight Sasha."

"Me too."

They were both on the passenger's side door. Sasha was leaning on the car. Ryan leaned in. Found her lips and they kissed under the moonlight.

His phone started buzzing.

"Sorry Sasha, I have to take this."

He walked away from the car. Sasha could not hear the conversation. So she just got into the car and waited for Ryan.

"Sorry Sasha." Ryan said after he closed his side of the door.

"No, it is okay. You had to take a call.. no biggie."

"No, I am sorry. I have to leave tonight."

"What? Where are you going?"

"I got a job. In Bora Bora."

"But we just -"

Sasha was disappointed. She really liked Ryan. They were comfortable with each other. They could be themselves. Be comfortable in their own skin with each other. Sasha cursed under her breath.

" I always have the worst luck with timing."

"I am so sorry Sash. You know that I really wanted this to work."

Sasha could tell he was sincerely sorry.

They both sat in silence.

Sasha started crying.

Ryan turned to her. "Sasha, please don’t cry."

"How can I not Rye? I really thought we could do this."

"Me too. I didn’t think that I'd be called in for a long term field work again. This sucks."

"Yeah, it does."

They sat there in silence again. Sasha had fallen asleep. So Ryan started the engine, and drove towards her house. He was crying now. He had waited for this moment for so long. He had always longed for Sasha. She was perfect. He was perfect for her. He cried some more.

They arrived in half an hour. Ryan got out of the car. Went to the other side, unbuckled Sasha's seatbelt.  Lifted her up with ease. Sasha stirred a bit before realising what is going on.

"Ryan, I can walk. I am awake."

Ryan just stood in one place while still carrying her in his arms.

"I don’t want to put you down. I know that if I do then, that would be the end of us."

"Why do you have to go Ryan?"

"I am sorry Sasha."

"It is not your fault I understand that. Still, I cannot help this feeling. I have waited for you for so long Rye."

"Me too…I love you Sasha."

Sasha looked up. Ryan looked down to meet her gaze. Their lips met and they kissed for one last time while crying.

Ryan's phone rang again and he had to leave. They gave each other one more hug and he drove away.

Sasha sat on the stairs. She didn’t want to go in. She wanted Ryan.
