millie
we made our way home, because we didn't want to do anything else. time was flying and spending it doing something pointless wasn't my option of choice.

upon arriving home, the smell of burning food hit me. i tried to ignore it to be polite. we walked past, saying nothing to finn's mom.

i dashed up the stairs, beating finn to his own room. "got be quick, buddy." i giggled, leaning against the wooden doorway.

"damn, millie. wild, aren't ya?" he said, jokingly. he pushed open the door to his room and plopped down on his bed.

"maybe just a little." i said, sitting down next to him. "whatcha doing?" i leaned over his shoulder.

"just making it known how amazing you are." he laughed, and hit post on a photo on instagram.

my phone buzzed saying i'd been tagged in a post. i opened up the notification, expecting it to be from finn.

"what?" my heart dropped quicker than ever before, and i ran low of breath. "are you even serious?"

people make "cutest ships and ugliest ships" accounts for our school, it's dumb, but it happens.

the caption was heartbreaking for me to sit and read. "how could finn date a motherf-" finn read over my shoulder, then closing my phone. "no. they can't do that."

"i know." i said, a few years dropping down my cheek. "at least they didn't like say anything worse.."

"still, millie," finn said, putting his fist down. "this isn't okay. they can't treat you this way."

"report the post then.." i spoke quietly. finn heard what i said, opening his phone to do so.

"done. be happy." he said, smiling.

"i always am."
