Ki took a deep breath and felt a quick, rough swipe against his cheek. Peering over he saw his loyal friend grin cheekily back "Morrow calm down," he chastised, more out of habit then any real irritation he felt at his furry friend.

"Mrrr," Morrow responded, appeased he wasn't going to have a melt down. Ki wasn't as confident, he was fine on his own, always had been, but moving into new territory always made his nerves dance with fire and electricity, meaning they were best left alone until they exploded.

He watched the measly amount of furniture he managed to keep with him be carted off into a large moving van, the faceless workers expertly sliding everything into its place, he snapped out of his musings when he heard the van's motor start. Blinking himself out of his sleep deprived stupor he felt Morrow shift against his shoulder, the pitch black cat seemed offended at the receding sight of the small white van disappearing into the distance, his blue eye narrowing unhappily.

Ki felt pleased with his friend's misplaced offense nonetheless "C'mon buddy, we need to get a cab." Ki murmured gently to the one-eyed feline. His companion of countless years purred in agreement. Slipping a crumpled paper out of his pocket he read the address for the thirtieth time, repeating the statement in his head to make sure he didn't mess up his instructions he headed towards the awaiting cab "Excuse me sir, could you please take me here?" he asked in his usual monotonous drawl. The aging man glanced at the paper and nodded silently, Ki felt relief, yet the constant underlying uneasy feeling murmured that he might have done something wrong during the conversation.

Pinching himself on the thigh he berated himself, logically the cabbie had probably had much ruder customers and seen much worse days, the sun was out and there was a pleasant chill in the air. He should just focus and relax.

The cab pulled out of the small parking lot in front of the apartment building and towards his new home. Ki's heart only being soothed by Morrow's steady weight on his lap.
