Blood soaked through the pavement. Golden ash stuck to skin. A scream is heard further down the alley. Will stumbled to the source before collapsing in front of a barely breathing Nico. His vision fades to black.

A person stood, looking at a wall covered in screens. They seemed sad as they watched the death of these two young men. They sink to the floor, their black robes billowing around them as they let out a sob. Another person in white rushes to their side and holds them close whispering reassurances.

"Khaos, what's happened?" The person in white asked before looking up at the screens in horror.

Khaos, shakily brushes their equal's hands to the side and rises to make preparations. "They're coming home Order. Let's- let us bring our successors home."

In a bright flash of light the two entities are standing at the entrance to the underworld where they intercept the souls of the dead boys.

Nico's eyes came into focus as he realized what had happened. The boy frantically patted his body looking for the blood and wounds that had been there previously. Finding nothing he continued to look around the room he was standing it. It was pure white and empty with no doors or windows. Hesitantly he called out a soft, "Hello?". At that a person dressed in white appeared in front of him. They were smiling softly and seemed familiar, like someone he had met a long long time ago.

"Hello Nico di Angelo. My name is Seira, but you probably know me as Order." Nico's eyes got wide and as he went to kneel a hand stopped him. "There's no need for that. After all, you are like a son to me."

"What... what do you mean by that." Nico saw a bit of amusement in Order's white eyes, but there was a bitter sweet tinge to them as well. They held out their hand and said, "Please, let me show you."

Nico glanced at the offered hand and then at the primordial's eyes once more. After finding no ill intent he reached out with his own hand, hesitating slightly, before grasping their palm.

In an instant memory upon memory came rushing back to him. Flashes of a past life raced before his eyes, because before he was Nico di Angelo, he was Valdis. The primordial deity of death. An angel like being that kept souls at peace and swiftly delivered justice to those who deserved it. The heir of Order, their lieutenant. He also saw himself dying the first time, he watched as he faded out of human memory, only to be given a second chance by his mentor, reincarnated as a demigod with his partner, life.

The young man collapsed muttering, "Oraculi..." only to be caught by Order. As he lay in their arms Nico's features started to change. Snowy white wings sprouted from his back and he face seemed to take on an almost timeless appearance that only an immortal could have.

At the same time Will wakes up in a very similar room to Nico's. However, Khaos is already there. Confused and disoriented, Will looks around for Nico remembering the sorry state he had found his partner in previously. Seeing no one except for the the lone figure he began to panic.

Khaos simply smiled softly and while holding out their hands, said, "He is alright. Let me explain." Still wary of the stranger but needing answers, Will took their offered hands and as they grasped each other Will falls forward into Khaos' embrace overwhelmed by memories. Slowly his features change and just as with Valdis, Bion, a primordial being of life and strength, the successor to Khaos, is reborn. As the immortal slept, wings dark as charcoal formed on his back and a smile rested on his face.

First rewrite done. Nice. Alright there are a few translations. They're going to italicized in the chapter. So if a word is slanted you can look to the bottom for a translation.

Seira- Greek word meaning "order"
Valdis- Latin name meaning "of the dead"
Oraculi- mentor in Latin
Bion- Greek name meaning "life"

For the rest of the fic I'll probably be referring to Nico and Will as Death and Life respectively except for certain occasions, and it probably won't come up but in case anyone is wondering, Khaos' "true name" is still just Khaos. The English language took the word chaos directly from Latin and Greek, so much like the creators of the language I am too tired to change it.
