Darkness isn't that bad once adapted. It's like a pastor to church or a mans car. It's there, and it's been accepted, and you've adapted to this darkness. Like a humans eye adapts to different brightness so we can still see where home is. It's your nail always growing and getting chipped. Darkness allows you to see your true potential. Darkness can be used as a weapon or tool it all depends on the way you look at it. You may see it as the weapon stabbing you in the back when really it's whispering you the reality of the situation. You say it hurts, but you asked for the truth.
