New year

Chapter 2

*three months later*

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, Batman!

Na, na, na *bang* I reached over and hit my clock before it started again. It was the first day of school and summer was over but I wasn't looking foreword to senior year.

"Nicky wake up! You don't want to be late on your first day!!" My mom said as she walked in with out knocking and opened my shades.

*pause*

Got to love my mom right?! She's the kinda mother that stays home and watches your every move! Her Tennessee accent really comes out when she talks fast or is really excited. Right now I'm half way asleep and both of those things are happening so I really can't understand her....

*play*

I flinched at the light and turned over.

"I made breakfast!! Come on honey."

"I'm coming, I'm coming"

I sat up, scratched my head, yawned and threw me feet over the bed. The day was going to begin weather I wanted it to or not. I quickly showered and picked out my clothes then headed downstairs. I saw my sister and mom sitting at the table.

"No dad?" I said as I grab a piece of toast and sat down.

"He left already." Sara said

"Of course" I sighed.

My dad never really sticks around to eat breakfast with us, or dinner for that matter.

"You need a ride to school?"

"Nah Del is coming to pick me up." Just as I said that I heard a honk outside. I jumped to my feet, grabbed my backpack and kissed my mom goodbye. As I left I ruffled my sisters hair for the fun of it. She hated it cause it normally took her an hour to get it done in the morning. I walked to the car and could see that Del had picked up Jimmy too. Del and Jimmy where two of my best friends.

"What's up Nick?!"

"What's up."

"Can you believe it! Guys it's our senior year you know what that means?"

Jimmy said moving his eyebrows up and down. "Girls, girls and more girls!" He said giving Del a high five.

"That's what I'm saying! Me, you and Nick Friday night party life."

"I don't know I'm kinda done with girls this year." I said as I looked out the window.

"Is this because of Megan?" Del said.

"Megan?! Megan who?" I slyly remarked.

"You know the Megan that kinda kissed your best friend on your anniversary. Remember... You where watching."

"Oh thanks Jimmy cause I actually forgot who Megan was." I said being sarcastic.

"No problem man this is what I'm here for." Jimmy said as he winked.

I rolled my eyes. "It's not because of Megan I'm just fine with being single for right now ok?!" I waited a while for an answer then answered myself.

"Ok."

As we reached school we pulled up and got out of the car. We where greeted by most of our friends.

"You guys ready for this year!" Jimmy said throwing his hands up in the air.

"2012 it's our year baby!"

We cheered and shouted as we all headed towards the school. I was too focused on my friends to watch where I was going, I jolted back and heard a thump like something hitting the ground. I looked down to see a small girl. She was wearing a black skull cap, a white ramones t-shirt and leggings along with a black and white plaid long sleeve tied around her waist with boots on. She was picking her books up off the ground.

"I'm so sorry" I said as I bent down to help her pick up some of the books. I doubted she could hear me do to the fact she was wearing big pull over headphones. She took the books from my hands, muttered thank you while still looking down and disappeared behind a corner.

"Who was that?" I questioned wondering if anyone knew, but that seemed to be the question on most minds because no one could answer. I was still kind of dazed when another one of our friends spoke up,

"I heard she just moved here with her fam from Michigan."

"Detroit?" Someone else asked.

"Nah I think it was a place called Lansing."

"Lansing" I said laughing, "Never heard of it before." And just as I said that the bell rang.

"Quick what classes do you guys have?" We look at each others sheets and figured out we all had the same classes, all but me that was.

"Photography 101, well I guess I will see all you losers 2nd hour." I said with a smile on my face. As we split to go to class I found myself going up to the fourth floor.

*pause*

Not that I don't like working out but wouldn't it be so much easier if we all could use the elevator?! In my opinion it might end up making halls and stairways clearer. Don't you just hate pushing through people? I do but wait are you reading this while sitting in class?! I'm flattered but you should listen to the teacher, she just said something important......hahaha I'm just kidding we both know nothing important was said. Ok back to the story.

*play*

As I reached the class, I walked in and sat down in the front.

"Hello class, my name is Mr.Stevens, and I will be your teacher for the rest of the year. The first thing we will do is check in to see if everyone is here then I will be assigning partners." As he called off the names my buddy David walked in.

"What up man! You got this class to?"

"Ya I thought I was bout to be alone for a second, we should try to be partners man."

"That's what's up!" He said putting his hand out to do our secret hand shake. David was another one of my friends. We were on the baseball team together, and we both spent a lot of time in the Doug-out.

"Ok now that everyone's here Ill read off one name, then Ill read off another and that'll be your partner. If you have questions, raise your hand." I then raised my hand.

"Hey Mr.Stevens me and David were wondering if we could be partners?."

"I'm sorry Mr.Voelker I have your partners assigned already, but you can pick your partner second semester if you are in this class." He started with his list and David was the fifth name he called. He ended up with a girl name Grace. I sat there seeing everyone get paired then I finally heard my name.

"Mr. Voelker you will be partners with Miss. Brown." Who was that? I asked myself. I had never heard that name before, but he must've seen the confusion on my face because he pointed to the corner in the back of the room. I turned to see and It was the girl in the skull cap! I smiled. This should be interesting.
