Daphne:

I awake, not sure of where I am. I try to sit up, but a sharp pain shoots through my back. I let out a small whimper as I continue to maneuver myself to glance at my surroundings. Once I'm finally in a sitting position I place my hands on the ground behind me to support my weak body. I feel grass crunch under my hand, and look around to see that I appear to be in a ditch. I begin to recall what happened, piece by piece. I look down to see my pants stained with blood, and my eyes immediately begin to fill with tears. I slowly get myself on my feet, crying out in agony with each move my body makes. I slowly begin to climb the hill of the ditch, tears still uncontrollably streaming down my face. I get to the top to see a gas station less than a dozen yards away. I limp there, wincing with each step. Once I finally reach it, I go straight to the cashier and ask to borrow a phone. "Sure Miss... Are you okay?" He asks, looking at me concerned. "I'm fine. I just need a phone." I reply coldly. He hands me his cell phone and I dial Demi's number slowly. After a few rings I hear a click. "Hello?" I hear Demi's glorious voice say through the speaker. I never would've thought that hearing her voice would sound so good. "Demi..." I whisper, feeling the tears rising again. "DAPHNE. WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN?! You've been gone all night, we've been worried sick. WHERE ARE YOU?" Demi screams as I hear commotion starting in the background. "It's a long story Demi... Can you please come pick me up?" I ask, tiredly. I can feel her suspicion but choose to ignore it. "Fine. Where are you?" She asks, still angry. "Uhm... The QuikTrip a couple miles from grandma's." I reply. "Daphne how did you end up that far from home?" She asks. "It's a long story demi. Just please hurry" I hang up the phone and hand it back to the cashier. "Uh... There's a bathroom back there if you wanna clean up." He says nervously. "Uh, right. Thanks." I say with an attempted smile. I shuffle back to the bathroom, and lock the door behind me. I look it the mirror and see that my eye is bruising. There's mascara all over my face, my hair is raggedy and tangled, my grey hoodie is stained with red, same as my light blue jeans. I close my eyes tightly as more tears start to fall. I look at my reflection in the mirror. My face grows pale, and my eyes grow cold.

Demi:

I arrive at the QuikTrip and make my way inside. "Excuse me," I say to the cashier, "Do you know if my sister's been through here? Brownish blonde hair, blue eyes? Wearing a grey hoodie I believe." He nods slowly, looking back towards the bathrooms. "Yeah, I sent her back to the bathroom about fifteen minutes ago... I don't think I ever saw her come out." I nod to him, and head back to the bathrooms. I go to knock on the door when I hear sobbing coming from inside. "Oh god..." I try to open the door, but it's locked, "Daphne? Is that you?" I ask, knocking. "Oh... Uh... Yeah! Just a second." I hear her say nervously. A few minutes later I see the door beginning to open and a very rough looking Daphne standing before me. "Can we go home?" She asks. I nod and gesture for her to walk in front of me. She takes one step, and cries out in pain, almost falling over. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I ask, quickly holding her up. "N-Nothing. Please can we just go home." She begs, taking yet another small step.

Once we finally get outside, I help her into the car, and see something that confirms my fears.

I shut her car door and make my way to the drivers side. Once I climb in, I look at Daphne, who's staring blankly out the window. "Daph?" I ask, setting my hand on her shoulder. She jumps violently, clearly startled. "What happened last night?" She looks at me, her eyes filling with tears. "N-Nothing." She squeaks. I look down at her pants again and sigh, "Then where's all of that blood coming from?" My question makes her wince, and she slowly pulls her knees up to her chest, hiding the blood. "Daphne. Please tell me what happened." She turns her head towards me, and slowly blinks her dead, tired eyes, "There was a guy. He asked me for directions." Her eyes fill with tears again, but her face still shows no emotion, "And then as I was walking away he... He grabbed me. Then he took me and..." I see emotion begin to enter her face ever so slightly, and she begins to shake, "And he r-ra-raped me." She lets out a loud cry, and pounces into my arms. I hold her tightly, rocking her back and forth. "I'm so sorry demi! I'm so sorry." She says over and over again. "Shh, it's okay, you have nothing to be sorry for. This was not your fault." I whisper, trying to soothe her. Moments later, she had stopped shaking and was just sitting in my lap, face emotionless, staring into space, eyes cold and lifeless again.
