Finding ours

Rue and I did okay for the next few days. With only minor injuries. Rue thought it was a good idea to sleep in different trees. So I did as told.

I went to sleep in a tree a few feet from Rue. We went to sleep and when I woke up. Rue was gone. J looked around and saw she was on the ground. I dropped down and landed beside her.

"What's wrong?"

"It's you're Mom."

I frowned.

"What's wrong with her, where is she?"

Rue walked off and I followed her. That's when I saw Katniss laying on the ground. Her eyes closed. My heart picked up. I ran to her. I tried to shake her.

"Mom. Mom. Wake up please. Please wake up."

She couldn't be dead. The plane would have gotten her. I hugghed her middle, tears running down my face.

"She'll be fine, Alma. She'll be out a few days, though.These leaves will help her."

I nodded and started gathering some more of the leaves. After a few days Katniss woke up. I hugged her.

"Hey, little duck."

I hugged her tighter.

"I'm fine. See look!"

I let her go.

"Come on, we have to hunt."

After we ate, Katniss said.

"A  what happen while I was out."

Rue told her.

"And the boy from our district."

Rue smiled and said.

"He's okay, I think he's down by the river."

"And Cato?"

"They're near the cornucopia, they have everything piled up in big pile."

"That's sound tempting."

Katniss smiled at us. A few days after Katniss got her strength up. She told us the plan. Rue was to set up these fires and we were to whistle when everything was okay. Rue went off to find set the fires. Katniss and I ran to the cornucopia. Cato had left behind someone to watch their stuff. We were about to walk out, but saw foxface run and go through the stuff. She had somehow figured out the trap. Once she left. Katniss said.

"Stay here."

I did as told as she got an arrow out. She shot it, but missed the apples. She shot one more time and the apples fell and exploded. We fell back at the impact. Cato came and Katniss and I ran back to the bushes. Cato broke the Boyd kneck.  Katniss and I ran back to the third fire, but it was unlit.

"Katniss! Katniss!  Alma!"

We ran to the noise. Rue was tangled in a net. We ran to her and cut her free. She hugged Katniss, but when she pulled away. A boy shot a sphere threw her. At the same exact moment. Katniss shot an arrow at the boys kneck. They both fell. Rue pulled the weapon out and fell. Katniss looked at the damage and she looked as if she was about to cry.

"She gonna be alright?"

I asked.

"You're gonna be alright."

Katniss said. But I could tell she was lieing.

"Did you blow up the food?"

Katniss nodded.

"Every bit of it."

"Good."

It fell silent for a few moments.

"Can you sing?"

Katniss nodded and begin to sing to  Rue. I begin to cry as her breathing stilled and her body wasn't moving. I shook my head. I threw my body over her. I cried and cried.

"No! No!"

Katniss picked flowers and made her look beautiful.

"Come on we gotta go."

She helped me up. As we walked we turned around and found a camera. We held our threw fingers up. We countuied to walked until we stopped and started to cry again. We stood there for hours. Until am announcement came on.

"There will be a change in the rules until further notice. If you are the same district as some one else
You can both win."

I looked at Katniss.

"Petta."

We ran to the river but couldn't find Petta. That is till Petta grabbed Katniss leg.

"Petta!"

I helped carried Petta to the water. To wash him off. Then Katniss took a look at his leg.

"What was it?"

"A sword."

Katniss and I helped carried him to a cave.

"We can stay here, until everything settles down."

Katniss said.We nodded. Katniss made a pallet on the ground and moved Petta there.

"Mom, I could we've some plants together for beds. But I'll need to go to the river. I could bring some fish back."

"You're not going alone. I'll come."

"But Dad needs help. I'll be fine."

Katniss sign.

"Fine, but take this. I know you can use it. And this."

She handed me a bow and arrow, with a knife. I walked out and to the river, gathering plants and thing to make bowls and beds. I stuffed the plants in the bookbag. I was almost done, before I heard a loud crunch. I quickly turned around and saw a Cato and girl I didn't care to figure out the name to. I put the bookbag on my back and tried to back up, but it didn't work. Cato laughed.

"We gotta stop bumping into each, other like this Alma."

"Where's you're little mommy and daddy."

I took a shaky breath.

"Leave me alone."

I grabbed the bow and arrow and aimed it at Cato. Cato took another stepped and I shot the arrow at his foot. He screamed. The girl attacked me and we tumbled to the ground. I screamed as she cut my arm. She was about to cut my throat, but I over powered her. I held her hand down and grabbed the knife.

"I told you to leave me alone!"

I screamed and stabbed her arm. She screamed and pushed me off of her. She held me down.

"You thought that hurt. Then you really don't deserve that 12."

I saw the sword that Cato had dropped. I overpowered her again and grabbed the sword. I grabbed it and cut her leg. Just as they did Petta. The girl screamed.

"Cato!"

I grabbed my stuff and ran. I ran back to the cave. I was huffing and puffing.

"What happen?"

Katniss said. I took a deep breath

"Cato and a girl attacked me."

Petta sat up.

"What?"

"I was getting plants for bowls and beds. When Cato and some girl came and tried to kill me. I shot Cato in the foot and he ran off, but the girl tried to kill me. I stabbed her in the arm but she over powered me and cut my arm. Then I grabbed the sword and made a deep cut on her leg."

Katniss hugged me.

"I'm just glad you're okay."

The rest of the night I fixed baskets and beds.
