Asher's POV:
After I agreed to tell Aiden everything I started second guessing my decision. I haven't told anyone the complete truth and I just met this girl, not to mention she's been a complete ass to me all day.I look up into her curious eyes and decide I need to get this off my chest. Thinking back to that day sends chills down my spine and makes me want to hide away, never to be found. But I know I need to do this.
I take in a deep breathe and hug my knees closer to my chest as I start to tell this strange girl my life story.
"Twelve years ago, a baby girl was born on January 1st. Her mother named her Asher and loved and cared for her very much. For twelve years her mother took care of her and provided her with everything she needed, well except for on thing, her father. You see, her father was a piece of shit who left before she was born," My voice raises and my eyes become blurry with tears as I continue my story.
"The only thing that she had of her father was a bracelet," I state as I grab the bracelet from under my pillow. "He left this with her mother and told her to give it to the baby once it was born. And the mother did because that's the only thing she could give to the girl that even remotely involved her father." I sniffle as I look at the damned bracelet and think of my dead mother.
"One day, the girl and her mother had a fight and the girl left to walk and blow off some steam. It was a stupid fight about stupid shit the girl had done and it was useless. The girl never said goodbye or even apologized and that was her biggest mistake, because that was the last time she would see her mother alive." I whispered out trying to hold back my sobs. Suddenly there was a hand on my arm and I jerked back.
I look up and see the concern and pity in Aiden's eyes. That was what I was trying to avoid, pity was something I hated especially when it was directed towards me.
"Stop looking at me like that." I snap and look away as I continue my story.
"When the girl came back she felt guilty and wanted to apologize for her actions and harsh words but what she found broke her into a million different pieces. Apparently while she was gone someone no... something killed her mother and tore her apart. Nobody actually knows what happened but the girl blames herself for it everyday." I stated as I buried my face in my knees and hid behind my hair. Eventually the sob I was holding back ripped through my body and I broke again right in front of Aidan's confused eyes.
"Do you want to play video games?" Aiden suddenly said in an awkward voice as she tried to lighten the mood. I looked up and chuckled as tears fell down my face.
"Yeah." I said and we both got up and headed to our gaming room. We walked in and I plopped down on the couch.
"I'll go get some snacks, you can pick the game." She said as she walked back out of the room. I stood back up with a groan and walked to the wall that had as many games as you could think of.
This is like my personal heaven. I sift through some games and find the perfect one. I giggle and walk over to the system and put it in.
I run back to the couch and grab two controllers as I sit back down on the couch. Soon Aiden walks back in with a bunch of food and sits down next to me.
"What did you choose?" She asks as she sets out the snacks. I giggle and turn on the TV so she can see the game.
"Oh how ironic." She chuckles and pics up her controller. After that she and I play Assassins Creed for a couple hours and changed games multiple times after that until we were both passed out with food hanging out of our mouths.
I guess she's pretty cool after all. Maybe I'll actually like it hear at The Guild. Or at least I thought so until I found out we had to wake up at five am the next morning.
'This is bullshit.' I thought to myself as I got ready for the long day ahead of me.
