"Aiden or Aids"

*DING DING DING*

"UGH." I sit up in bed and stretch out my aching arms. Why do we have to wake up so early, it's only 5am! I groan as I get out of my comfortable bed and head over to my closet to pick out my clothes.

"Hmmm." I hum as I grab a black tank top, camouflage leggings, black undies, bra, and socks. As I head to the bathroom I grab my towel and a clean washcloth.  After a quick hot shower I dry off, brush my teeth, and brush my hair out, then I put it up in a ponytail.

I walk over to my bed, grab my combat boots, pull them on, and start tying them up. Once I'm done I head out the door and shut it behind me as I make my way to the mess hall to get some grub.

As I'm walking through the hallways getting ready to head though the door to the mess hall I stop dead in my tracks.

"Did you know we're getting a new student?" Someone says.

"No but people are saying it's a girl." Someone else replied.

A new student? We haven't had a new student in a year... Why didn't the headmaster tell me about this?

I shake my head to clear my thoughts as I resume walking into the mess hall. Whatever, I'll talk to him later and see exactly who the "new student," is.

I get in line, grab a plate and cover it in bacon, toast, eggs, and orange juice. Then I head over to an empty table and start eating. Once I'm done I throw away my trash and head off towards the headmasters office.

As soon as I walk out of the mess hall I notice something's not right. "Um excuse me, where's the headmasters office?" I hear a young girls voice behind me. I turn around and see a short girl with hair as black as night and bright purple eyes, surrounded by the group of pervs at this school.

"Oh look what we have here boys, someone new to play with." One of the boys calls out. All of them snicker and laugh at his horrible joke. I can see the young girl starting to get annoyed.

"I'm not looking for any trouble, I just wanted to know where the headmasters office is." The girl snaps at them. I hear some 'oohs'  and whistles from the group.

"You'll have to give us something in return." One of the boys, I'm assuming he's the leader, states confidently.

"What would that be?" The girl ask while she rolls her eyes. I like this girl already. He eyed her body up and down, smirked and looked back up.

"Your body." He said bluntly. This guys is really starting to get on my nerves. As I start to walk towards them that's when the girl starts laughing her ass off.

"Th-that's really funny," she wheezes, "You sick bastard." She says as she brings her fist up to his nose, and the next I know I hear a giant cracking noise.

I look at his nose to see it's bleeding and is pointing sideways. Damn that little girl just broke his nose. A small smile rises to my lips but quickly disappears.

"I hate people like you." She spat as she ran at him again.

"You bitch!" The guy screams as she punches his face repeatedly. Once I think he's had enough I walk over and yank the guy in front of me out of my way as I walk over to the girl and boy.

Once I reach them I grab the girl and yank her off of the asshole.

"Hey! Let go of me, let me at him!" She screams as she flails her arms around, trying to break free of my hold as I pull her hands behind her back.

"Shut up. You don't need to get into trouble on your first day, so stop whining and calm down." I snap and in return I hear a quiet 'hmph' from her but she quits trying to kill the guy.

The 'leader' somehow manages to pick himself off of the ground and then me and the girl are surrounded by his friends. I look up and let go of the girls arms as another dude starts speaking.

"Looks like we need to teach you girls a lesson, nobody messes with us. " A tall lanky boy states as another boy tries to hit me when I'm distracted.

The girl cries out and I catch the boys fist just as it is about to connect with my face. I turn my head and glare at him.

"Didn't your mom teach you it's not nice to hit a lady? Oh wait she gave you up before you even opened your eyes, guess not then huh?" I smirk as I twist his wrist and throw him over my shoulder.  By now there is a crowd gathering and guards are starting to notice.

"Who's next?" I state as I look at the group of frightened boys. I guess they just don't know when to give up because then they come at me and the girl. She and I share a look and it feels like we've fought beside each other for eternities, like we know exactly what the other person is thinking. Then we turn and take on the group of boys.

Eventually me and the girl were the only people standing and a few guards came over to break everything up.

"That's enough, what the hell is going on?" A guard asks. Me and the girl share a look and she turns back to the guard. She gives him huge puppy eyes and pouts her lips like she is going to cry.

"All I did was ask these boys where the headmasters office was and they started saying nasty things towards me and they tried to attack me but she," she pointed at me, "came over and saved me." She looked at the guard with teary eyes and her lip quivered as she sniffled.

The guard became frantic and worried like he'd never seen someone cry. He started comforting her and eventually sent the boys to clean the horse stalls and then they had to clean the pig sty's. He then told me to take the girl to the headmasters office.

As me and the girl turned the corner around the mess hall we looked at each other and the girl burst out laughing. I'm confused now.

"Did you see that guard? He actually thought I was crying, I'm gonna die!" She laughed and then I understood, she had been faking it the whole time. She wasn't actually upset at all, she was just acting.

"Thanks for that back there," The girl said as we continued to walk down the hall. "I'm Asher Black and I'm 12." She says as she sticks her hand out towards me. I take her hand and shake it.

"The names Aiden Armenia and I'm 13." I state as we come up to the headmasters door. She looks at me and smirks.

"Nice to meet you Aids. I hope we can be friends." She giggles at the nickname she gave me and I feel my anger rise. She just called me aids I can't believe her.

I turn away without responding and knock on the door. I hear someone yell 'come in' and I walk in with Asher behind me.

"Oh hey Aiden, I see you've met Asher." The headmaster states as he looks up at us.

I give him a tight smile and nod, I'm still pissed and don't want to say something I'll regret later.

"I need you to show her around instead of going to your lessons and show her
your dorm which is where she will be staying." He states as he looks back down at his papers.  My eyes widen and I suddenly wish I hadn't helped this girl out, now I'm stuck with her.

Hey this is my first book and I'm posting this chapter late because my friend had to edit it. My actual schedule is Monday's and Friday's, if I'm not able to post it on one of those days then I'm going to have to rethink my schedule. But for now I hope u enjoy the book!
