Chapter Five: Cornered by Danger

Her hands were swaying in the mild currents of the cool water around her. The clean water-filled was deep enough for her to swim. Not shallow. The shallow ones are the reasons of Archie which will never explain why he did that to her. She wants to punch him until he bleeds but she offered her strength in swimming right now. That’s alright. At least, that is a form of relaxation to her away from tears and fears and all the things bothering her. She did freestyle strokes and swam so gracefully in not so fast manner. If her swimming is a kind of show, that would probably be a ballet show. Her feet were flipping and her arms were moving in alternately. She reached the end of the pool. She knew it when the tips of her fingers touched the tiled solid walls of the fifteen feet deep pool. She’s swimming with angst but it shows she is swimming with elegance and confidence. She is sexy and she is moving quite fast without trying hard. From eyelids protecting, her eyes took in slender shape. She made her eyes wide when two black shadows swam in the deep pool with her. She did not stop on swimming but her heart races. She wasn’t afraid of them anymore but what made her swim faster and her heart beat faster was the memory of the past also happened in the pool. She wanted to forget it, really. After immediately kicking with her foot at the end wall of the pool, she moved nimbly in the water. She looked at her sides, the presence of the following shadows are still there beside her. Blurry and scary. Another end of the pool was still far, she could see but strange happenings occurred one after another. Were her ears wrong? Were words like that really said?

“The shadows really are silly.”

“Does she still find it creepy?”

While swimming back towards the starting edge of the pool, she heard two voices of girls. She bet those lovely girls are up on the floor. She tried her best to swim faster until she reached up. She rose from the pulling force of the water. Her clothes were wet but she doesn’t care. She compressed her twirled all-wet hair and water came out down to the floor. The drops of water from hr gorgeous body were unstoppable. Her wet clothes stick unto her flesh, revealing the curved form of her body that’s nice enough to be a star in a Ms. Bikini contest in California. She pulled her yellow shirt up from her stomach to separate. She walked into the first row of blue audience chairs facing the start edge of the pool where she left her bag before jumping on.

“Brielle.” Someone called her from the left side of the audience seats. That voice was familiar. Brielle looked to see who called her, exactly one of the voices she heard a while ago that shocked her. Regina’s. She marched slowly and wetly into Regina.

“Hello. D-did you just arrive?” she asked.

“No. We came here earlier than you. We just finished our swimming practice.” Regina answered with ease. Her eyes were like a cat’s because of her heavy makeup.

“I’m sorry; I made up my mind to join Harmonics.” Brielle bowed in apology.

“That’s okay.” Regina, who looks stunning as always, touched her wet right arm.

“She’s Quiel Noriano, my friend.”

Regina placed her hand to the person standing beside her. Brielle transferred her sight to that person wearing black sweater and blue jeans downward. That girl taller than Regina and her has bright black eyeballs, sparkling smile, long pointed nose, fair suntan skin, rounded eyes, long neck and thick brown eyebrows. That girl named Quiel has broad shoulders that tell she is a trained good swimmer and she developed muscles. Quiel looks so Mexican-ish senior to Brielle. Meaning, she looks like a responsible, kind and trustworthy person with bold eyebrows.

“So, you’re Brielle Kruger?” She smiled at Brielle with her swarthy grimace.
