~Chapter 28: Why?~
«Y O O N G I»

Why?

Why does it have to be like this?

Why is her bodyguard always butting into our conversations?

I've been trying to put up with him this whole day and it's already lunch time but he's still doing the same thing.

Interrupting our conversations, pushing us apart when we're finally alone, and just being really loud in general.

"Okay you two lovebirds, we're gonna go hang around the school for a while since the bell just rung. Bye!"

"Yoongi why are you so grumpy today?"

"Hmm?" I hummed in response and looked at Seol.

"Why are you so grumpy today?" She asked me.

"Oh no, no I'm not. I just didn't get enough sleep." I replied with hints of jealousy in my voice.

"You think I'm gonna believe you? You always use the same excuse," she retorted. "Besides, you're always taking naps when you have the chance to. Why wouldn't you have enough sleep?"

My mouth was sealed shut.

She got me there.

There was a visible frown across my face because I really didn't know what to say after she just attacked me with those words.

"Okay something really is wrong here. What happened?" She asked me worriedly.

"I-I just..."

"I'm jealous okay." I gave up quickly.

"Jealous? Jealous of what?" Seol asked cluelessly.

"You know... your bodyguard. I feel like he's more than a bodyguard to you. When we have some alone time, he's always either interrupting our conversations or pulling us apart. Its getting annoying." I ended up ranting and it was silent after that.

"Woah Yoongi, chill. He's just like that. He's only two years older than me so we're pretty close. He also hasn't left the house in a pretty long time so he's kinda excited today." She chuckled lightly and pat my shoulder twice, reassuringly.

I was still kinda upset and my frown slowly turned into a small pout.

"Don't be jealous. He's like a step brother to me. Nothing more. I wouldn't pick someone else over you." My head instantly lifted when I heard her say that.

My pout quickly turned into a bright smile as she smiled as well.

"So what do you wanna do now that he's not here?" Seol asked me.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Now that you think about it, I don't even know what to do anymore. School is just always the same everyday. Can't wait to graduate from this hell hole." I sighed as I leaned back on my chair while closing my eyes.

"But you know; sometimes it's nice when time passes by slowly." Her tone was a little softer and her eyes slightly softened as well.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, it's nothing, I was just saying some random quote I found." She gave me a small smile and I smiled back too.

The rest of the day was pretty much the same, except for the fact that her bodyguard was always there, being slightly annoying. But for some reason he got along really well with Yugyeom - they seemed like best friends.

I was happy that Seol was feeling better now.

Seeing her happy made me feel happy.

If only I had known that our happiness wouldn't last for so long.

«S E O L»

Today went by fast and it was going too well — I felt as if something bad was supposed to happen as I barely had days where nothing would go wrong.

It was as if every time I turn a corner, my heart suddenly aches, making me jump — I was feeling slightly anxious.

I started to have thoughts on what's gonna happen.

Jinyoung.

Yoongi hating me.

Someone betraying me.

But these are only thoughts, right? They can't possibly be true...

But when the school bell rang, signalling that it was already time to go home, I started to feel a little more at ease.

I felt less worried and anxious.

But just when my worries started to fade away, someone made it worse.

"Hey Yoongi, you do know that you're dating a psychotic girl?" I turned my body towards the annoying voice that was spewing out hurtful words – Jinyoung.

"What did you just say?" Silence engulfed me as Yoongi replied irritatingly towards Jinyoung.

"I said your girlfriend is a psycho. Or more like somebody who's not human." Jinyoung proceeded to reply calmly.

"I think you're the one who's a psycho. What would she be if she wasn't a human? Come on Seol, let's go." Yoongi intertwined our hands together and turned both of us away from Jinyoung.

"Haven't you tried thinking about it? How she's not like a normal girl, how she runs so fast yet never gets tired, and many more. Doesn't she have inhuman features?"

"You're just blabbering nonsense. This is Earth we're living in. There couldn't possibly be another creature that looks exactly like a human. If Seol isn't human, then what is she? Even if she isn't human, I would still love her the same way. Nothing's gonna change."

"I've seen it before. Her running like some bionic human with super speed. I've even seen her eyes flash different colours before. Haven't you even thought of why her hair is 'naturally' silver and why her eyes are blue? Haven't you? If you haven't, then you must be insane." Jinyoung suddenly talked back and I grew anxious, as it looked as if Yoongi was speechless.

"Min Yoongi, you do know that the government has said that there is a high possibility that supernatural beings are living with us at this moment, right? They even captured a video of a vampire going insane once. I guess you were too dumb to even look it up." He continued, and I saw that Yoongi's fists were clenching at his sides.

"You're lying." I heard Yoongi grumble.

"Oh wait, I thought you were okay with Seol being a supernatural being or not. But it sounds like you'd leave her if she really wasn't human." Jinyoung said in a mocking tone.

The blood in my body was rushing around faster as my breathing got heavier.

"Whoops! Haha, I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else. Let's go guys!"
