"You know, I noticed the book had nothing on Nightfuries, is there a second book? Or a sequel, maybe a little Nightfury pamphlet?" Hiccup got interrupted by his thoughts by a shot of blast came by him.
"FOCUS Hiccup! Your not even trying." Gobber Says as Hiccup yelps and runs away. Cut back to reveal a deadly Nadder, lost in a maze of movements of walls. Gobber calls orders from above.
"Today...is All about attack." Called Gobber from the stands. "Nadders are quick and light on there feet, your job is to be quicker and lighter."
The teens move in, tumbling over Hiccup and his unwieldy shield. The Nadder spots Fishlegs, hiding behind a wall. Fishlegs screams and use the wall to shield himself from the Nadders spray.
"I'm really beginning to question your teaching methods!!" Yelled Fishlegs.
"Look for its blind spot, every Dragon has one, find it, hide it, and strike it."
Ruff and Tuff go in. Diving and rolling to the Nadders nose. The Nadder sniffs the air. It can't see them. Ruff and Tuff are smashed together- to close for comfort.
"Do you ever bathe?" Asked Ruffnut in disgusted. "If you don't like it, then Find your own blind spot!" Tuffnut yelled.
"How about I give you one!" She argued. Ruff and Tuff shoved each other, till there movement and noise gave them away. The Nadder attacks, snapping at both of them.
"Blind spot, yes. Deaf spot, not so much." Joked Gobber.
Hiccup wanders up to Gobber as the others fly past him.
"Hey, so how would one sneak up on a Nightfury?" Hiccup asked stopping in the middle of the action.
"No one has ever met one and lived to tell the tail, now get in there!" Gobber yelled pointing in the direction of the Dragon.
"I know, I know, but hypothetically..."He wondered but got interrupted by Astrid.
"Hiccup..." she whispered getting his attention.
She puts her finger to her lip and gestured for him to hide. A moment later, the Nadder leaps over the wall, surpizing them but landing in front of her.
Astrid summersaults into its blind spot, confusing it. She rears back to strike. Just as snotlout leaps in, protectly sweeping Astrid behind him.
"Watch out babe. I'll take care of this.
Snotlout misses, Astrid glares at him.
"The sun was in my eyes, Astrid. what do you want me to do? Block out the sun? I could do that, but I don't have time right now." Snotlout says defensively but Astrid ignores him. The Nadder tears off after her. Knocking down the walls in pursuit.
She leaps and dives like a highly trained gymnast. Hiccup wanders up to Gobber.
"They probably take the daytime off,
You know, like a cat. Has anyone see one napping?" Hiccup asked but Gobber yells.
"HICCUP!" He says pointing behind him. He jerks around to see the walls clasped.
"HICCUP!!" Astrid yells as she goes flying near Hiccup's direction. He loses his balance and lands backwords. To see Astrid tumble over him.
"Oh! Love on the battlefield!" Tuffnut said in a mocking voice.
"She could do better." His twin responded.
The Nadder closes in, emerging from a cloud of dust.
Struggling to untangle, Hiccup says, "just let me.....why don't you..."
The Nadder spins around and charges towards them like a raptor.
Astrid untangles herself and tried to get her axe out of Hiccup's shield. Which is attached to his limp arm. She plants her foot on his torso, and she yanks the axe trying to release it from the shield.
Finally, she spins and swing the axe and the shield. Scoring a direct hit at the upcoming Nadders nose. It yelps and scurried off.
"Well done Astrid." Gobber hobbled off to put the Nadder back in it's cage.
Hiccup is curled up on the ground protecting his head and face. All eyes are upon him. He picks his head up to see Astrid glaring at him...
"...is this some kind of a joke to You? Our parents war is about to become ours, figure out what side your on...."She said as she stormed away with the others leaving Hiccup by himself...alone...
