"Darling, I don't want to...sound rude." She started, sighing heavily causing Kaya's dark sculpted eyebrows to furrow. "It's sad, very sad what happened to Jason and I know how much you loved him. The Blossoms however, you know how much me and your father despise them." She told her older daughter, her eyes were filled with sympathy but anger. "What was the point in moving back if you despise them so much?" Kaya asked rhetorically, stomping her way up to her room.

That night the dark haired girl could not bring herself to fall asleep, the many memories of the redhead twins would not escape her mind, it was haunting her. She groaned as she turned over - for about the 100th time - quickly she threw the covers off of her and grabbed her sneakers and joggers with a flannel wrapped around her waist. She made her way outside the breeze was a slight relief for the girl.

Memories of her and Cheryl playing by 'Sweetwater River' filled her mind, her feet instantly leading her to the once beautiful place. She didn't want to go down to the cold water, instead she kept back sitting herself on a dry patch of grass by some trees.

As her eyes gazed down at the water, gently brushing against the shore her heart sped up. The image of two girls; one with red curled hair in pigtails, the other with raven locks flying just past her shoulders a blue bow tied in her hair. Their laughter filled the air as their petite hands linked together, pulling each other away from the waves as they tried to grab them.

A hand grabbed Kaya's shoulder causing her to gasp and jump from where she was sat, her heart race slowed down as she was met with a familiar girl. "Why are you here?!" She whisper yelled, Kaya opened her mouth but closed it, her eyes turning to the water.

"Answer me Kaya." The girl told her, her voice softer now as she pulled her red cape around her tightly. "I-i couldn't sleep Cheryl, that's why I'm here." The redhead frowned before looking down at her feet.

Kaya awkwardly twirled her fingers around before looking up at the girl she adored as a heavy sigh escaped her pale pink lips. Tears filled her dark brown eyes. "H-he's gone." Cheryl blurted out, tears streaming down her face. The raven haired eyes widened as she moved to hug the girl but she was quick to push her back. "D-don't hug me. It's all people do at school, it's overwhelming." She mumbled, brushing a strand of her curled locks behind her ear. "Cheryl I really am so sorry, I-i know how much you lov-" she was cut of my Cheryl's hand gently covering her mouth as she shook her head. "He loved you too." She spoke, pulling her jacket even more over her body.

"Cheryl you are cold, you need to go home." Kaya said softly, brushing her hand up and down the girls arm comfortingly, Cheryl shook her head. "I don't feel welcomed there." Cheryl said sniffling as she dried her eyes. Kaya thought for a moment, somewhere she knew would be open for a little more before the morning begun. "Strawberry milkshakes at Pops?" She asked with a small smile, Cheryl giggled softly. "Couldn't say no to that."

As the girls found a stall inside the warmly lit diner, Cheryl instantly felt apologetic for the way she'd acted towards Kaya on her first day at school. She took her hand gently.
