Chapter 3I opened my eyes. I must've blacked out from all the pain last night. But I couldn't feel it any longer now. Where am I, anyways? I'm lying on something soft, like a bed. I'm not in my cell. Everything's white. Oh my gosh. Maybe Jazper killed me? Maybe he drained my body of blood? Am I dead?
I sat up in the bed, looking around. It was a small room, with white walls, white floor, white ceiling. There stood a person there, his back facing me. Was this an angel? He was dressed in a white fairing, and he had blond hair. Or was it a she, maybe? No, I don't think so. The person's got broad shoulders, and it looks like a guy's shape. I can't see any wings, but maybe this angel didn't have wings.
"Hello?" I said, stepping out of the bed.
The person turned around, and I was right - it was a guy. He smiled at me. "Hi."
"Who're you?" I asked, trying not to sound rude. It wouldn't be nice to an angel.
"My name is Samuel," he said, stretching out his hand for me to shake.
I shook it. "I'm Jenny. Where... Where am I?"
If I've gone to Heaven, I don't know what to say.
"Right now you are at Clarion Hotel, also known as my home," he said, writing something down in a little notebook.
"Oh," I nodded. "Are you an angel?"
Samuels eyes rounded at this, and then he frowned. "No. Quite the opposite, actually."
"So..." I said, trying to figure out what the hell was happening. "I'm not dead?"
"No, you look pretty much alive," he said, nodding towards me. "Wounded, but still alive."
I brought my hand up to my neck, feeling a big band-aid there. "But it doesn't hurt."
"Your neck is anesthetized," he explained.
"But what am I doing here? How did I get here? Do you work for Jazper?" I asked, looking around again.
"No, I do not work for Jazper. Some other people and I rescued you and all the other prisoners from there," he said. "Jazper knows you're gone, but he doesn't know where you are."
"So I'm free?" I asked, not being able to hold in my shock.
"Yes, but I wouldn't go outside yet if I were you. You might get captured again," he warned me.
"So all of the others are here? Lucy, Bree and Gabe?" I asked.
"We saved everybody, so they should be here," he nodded, smiling when I squealed of happiness.
"Thank you so very much!" I said, stepping forward to hug him. He saved us, he deserved a hug. I finally let him go, and apologized for hugging him without his permission.
"Can I see them?" I wondered, looking up at Samuel with pleading eyes.
"Sure. I haven't gotten everybody's name, but describe them?"
"Gabe is a short asian guy, Lucy is tall, slim and blonde, Bree is eight years old with tan skin and black hair," I said, suddenly getting in a hurry to see them.
I needed to know that they were safe.
"I know where Gabe and Bree are, then," he said, checking a few pages in his notebook. "I bet some of the other guys know where Lucy is. Bree is closest, I can take you to see her now?"
"That would be great!" I said.
This guy is an angel.
