"Hey Daise" Luke questioned, trying to figure out if I was asleep or not.

"What?" I muttered opening an eye, and looking at him.

"I was just thinking..." He began.

"You seem to do that an awful lot" I interrupted, making him chuckle

"Remember that time we decided to camp outside on your trampoline when we were like 8" He said, now making me laugh at the memory.

Luke and I had begged and begged our parents for days to let us have a sleep over outside on my new trampoline and one day we finally got them to agree to our seemingly fool-proof plan. So one Friday night we pulled our sleeping bags outside and set them up, along with our pillows and teddy bears, and slipped into them, watching the sky above as it got darker and darker. However, it seemed to get pretty dark all of a sudden and our sleep over wasn't as fun as we once thought it would be.

"I was terrified!" Luke recalled.

"I know you were, you were just about wetting yourself as you cuddled me." I said.

"That was the first time I willingly cuddled a girl" He laughed, rolling over and wrapping his arms around me.

"And now look at you; i'll have to name you the tent hoe." I joked, as he pouted at my cruel joke.

We laid in comfortable silence for a few moments before I was brave enough to ask the question left on my mind.

"What made you think of that?" I asked him, now curious to see why he had suddenly pulled up the memory.

"I don't know, it's just something about this trip already that has me remembering things from our past" He mumbled.

"We've been bestfriends for 17 years Luke, of course we've got a lot of memories" I said, snuggling into his side.

"Yeah, like that time your farted in class and tried to blame it on me." He laughed obviously trying to steer away from how serious he had become.

"That wasn't even me!" I groaned. "My shoe's squeaked together" I tried to defend myself, which was to no avail as Luke was now curled up into a ball, clutching his stomach as he was laughing so hard. When he looked up again, he was almost in tears from laughing so hard, his eyes crinkling at the corners; something that he always did when he laughed hard.

Burying my face into his chest in embarrassment, he laughed even harder before finally calming down and rubbing circles into my back.

"Oh Daisy Daisy Daisy" He laughed quietly, the two of us falling asleep soon after.

-

"Rise and shine Farty!" Luke called, reverting back to the nickname he used to call me after the fart incident.

"Fuck off Lucas!" I groaned at him, rolling over in an attempt to get back to sleep.

"Hey, hey! None of that, we're getting outta here today, and you my dear friend have the first driving shift!" He said with delight.

I groaned once more, getting up out of bed and attempting to find some clothes that I could wear to drive in all day.

"Fine, but i'll make you a deal. You pack the tent and the rest of the stuff up while I go and shower, and i'll drive an extra hour today." I bargained.

"Make it two extra hours and you've got a winner." He retorted.

"Done!" I agreed, racing off to the showers before Luke could change his mind.

Once the hot water was cascading down my back, I allowed myself to think of Luke's memory from last night, remembering how that night I had developed a crush on Luke because he cuddled me (the first ever boy to do so!) And remembered how then and there I decided I would marry Luke.

I laughed to myself about how much things had changed since then.

In high school, Luke had multiple girlfriends or rather flings that wouldn't last very long and would only result in one of them getting hurt. As Luke's bestfriend, I was always the one he came to after it happened, but i couldn't complain, as i did the same thing when i had break ups. It would be straight to Luke for a hug and one of his cheesy jokes that would instantly make me feel better about myself. That's how things between Luke and I had always been. We'd always been there for each other, and always will be.  Shutting off the shower with a smile, I got dressed and made my way out to wear Luke was standing, all packed up and ready to go.

"I'm impressed Hemmings." I said, packing away my bag of toiletries and my old change of clothes.

"Well you took long enough in that shower." He said. "I thought I needed to come to your rescue!"

"You just wanted to see me naked!" I grinned, climbing into Luke's car. "Come on Lucas, let's get this show on the road!" I said with a beep of the horn, watching as Luke scrambled to the passenger side, afraid I would leave without him.

"Nothing I haven't seen before." He snorted, proping his feet up on the dashboard and turning the radio up.

So this was more of a filler chapter about Luke & Daisy's friendship.
