NAZNEEN'S P.O.V
Its been a week since he confessed his feelings to me. After that, nawalan na ako ng time to talk to him dahil sa busy schedule naming pareho and I feel so guilty about it. Hindi pa rin magsink in sa utak ko na... well... he has feelings for me. Sobrang bilis ng pangyayari at wala akong magawa but to just cope up with it. Just go with the freaking flow, Nazneen.
Ngayon, nandito ako sa cafeteria kasama sila Laureen at Liyah. May gaganaping Freshman Welcome Ball na pinakahighlight ng Intramurals mamayang gabi. And I am not excited about it.
'What the heck?...'
"Nakasimangot ka na naman Naiah?... Duh?! Can't you just feel excited kahit konti lang knowing na ang ball ay magsstart na five hours from now?!" Laureen exclaimed and pinched my fluffy cheeks.
"Sasaya ako kung icacancel na nila ang last subject. Well, two hours preparation is not enough lalo na para sa mga babae right? The hell those organizers!" Singhal ko sabay irap. Hmm, I just got my period and I can't control myself from being this moody and short-tempered.
"Sus! Magpapaganda ka pa ba? Eh wala ka namang partner? Like duh? Hahaha! Ibaba mo muna ang pride mo sa ngayon Naz. Ikaw na ang mang-alok sakanila. Kaysa naman you go to the party later, alone and hopeless." Ani Liyah at sabay silang natawa ni Laureen.
'Tss...'
Palibhasa parehas na silang may partner at varsity pa ng volleyball at basketball.
"I'd rather go to that ball alone than to beg for someone else's confirmation to be my partner..." I seriously said while smirking at natahimik naman sila.
I just declined five offers tho. Mula last week hanggang kahapon ay puro ako 'hindi' sa mga nagtatanong kung pwede ba nila akong makapareha. Ewan ko ba. Ang hinihintay ko lang naman na magtanong ay si Zeus. Pero wala siyang paramdam. Balita ko rin ay may partner na siya ayon kila Liyah. Well I don't actually know if it's true pero umaasa ako na ako nalang ang partner niya. It's just that mas may tiwala ako sakanya kaysa sa mga lalaking nagtanong saakin.
Mabilis na tumakbo ang oras at natapos na ang last subject which is Ethics. We bid our goodbyes at nagpasundo na ako para maayusan na. I tried my best to flaunt my beauty, lipgloss here, powder there at baka sakaling may magtanong pa saakin last minute pero wala. Inshort, wala akong partner. This is tragedy!
Nagpasundo na ako kay Kuya Arvin at dumaan muna kami sa Starbucks and I grab some frappe.
'Wala akong maramdamang excitement... for pete's sake!'
Ako lang yata ang babaeng tagaHEIS dito dahil abala na ang lahat sa pagpapaganda. After I got my order ay nag-aya na akong umuwi...
"Mommmmyyyyy, I'm already home!" Sigaw ko sa apat na sulok ng bahay.
Agad namang lumabas si Mom from the kitchen na may dala-dala pang icing mixture, seems like she is baking a cake. Sabagay, hobby na niya iyan since I was a little kid.
"Oh baby you're home! Nandito na si Lessandra para ayusan ka. Dumating narin ang gown mo kanina dala-dala ng Tita Les mo. At kahit ayaw mo, I bought some glittery shoes for you! No buts and what ifs! Go now and take a bath baby girl. I can't wait to see my 16 year-old daughter to dress like a sophisticated lady..." Tuloy-tuloy na sabi niya while she is pushing me to the stairs.
'My mom is... simply the best!'
Naabutan ko si Tita Lessandra sa kwarto ko and I felt sorry dahil kanina pa pala siya naghihintay. Ibinigay ko sakanya ang pasalubong kong frappe na I think is her fave at naligo na ako.
"Nazneen hija, you are so adorable kahit walang make-up! Here, come!" She said as I came out of the bathroom and pulled me for an embrace.
I smiled at her. "Pagandahin niyo ko Tita hah? Hahaha."
"Ofcourse little miss lady!" At nagsimula na siyang pagmukhain akong tao.
Tita Lessandra is my mom's baby sister. She is a beauty guru. Mayroon siyang youtube channel and she have her millions of fans. Nakatapos din siya bilang isang fashion designer and I am proud to say that what I am going to wear tonight was her work.
After an hour ay tapos na ang hair and make-up ko. My eyeshadow is glittery and so as my lips. At ang buhok ko ay nakaipon sa isang bun who made my look fancy yet simple. Tulong naman sila ni Mom na isuot saakin and isang magarbong royal blue na gown.
'Mukha akong si Cinderella.'
I so love what my face looks like right now. I...am...stunning. Not bragging here! Hahaha!
"Gosh! I am so blessed to have a niece who were as fabolous as you!" She said and then giggled. She is just 28 by the way.
"Thanks Tita for glamming me up tonight." And then I smiled. "Mom? Anong oras ako kailangang umuwi? 12am?"
They both laughed. Duh? I am serious.
"Sinadya talaga naming pagmukhain kang si Cinderella but don't worry baby, enjoy the party! Ipapasundo ka namin ng 4am." Tatawa-tawang sabi ni Mom.
"By the way, sigurado akong mapapanganga ang partner mo! Eh? Teka what time is it? Baka late ka na..." Sabay tingin ni Tita sa wrist watch niya.
"Uhmmm Tita I don't have any-"
"I almost forgot! Naiah, you're partner was already here. Hinihintay ka na niya sa baba. Teka I will check him baby." At patakbong bumaba si Mommy.
Napaamang naman ang mga bibig ko at nanlaki ang mga mata ko.
Partner?
Duh?
Wala akong ganon tonight!
"Are you okay my niece?" Tanong ni tita while spraying some i-don't-know-what-is-it-called-thang sa buhok ko.
"Uhh Tita how is it that my partner was already downstairs when in fact, I don't-"
I was cut off... AGAIN.
"Nuh uh! Go downstairs! Your prince is already waiting for you. Good luck!" She again pulled me for a beso.
Dahan-dahan akong bumaba. Nakita kong nakasalubong sakin si Mama at todong nakangiti.
Slow motion...
"What are you doing here?" I simply said and frowned.
"I will be your partner for our tonight's ball. So paano? Let's go?" He said at inialok ang braso niya saakin.
"O...kay."
