Survive and Thrive - Klance (Zombie Apocalypse AU)

Prologue

Lance slammed close his car door and stood outside of his navy blue Jeep Wrangler. He shuffled his feet in the sand and glanced around the vast and surprisingly empty beach. It was very unusual for the beach to be empty on a sunny, bright, clear, and beautiful day like this. Especially in Washington, where you'd normally have rain every single day unless you got real lucky. Hunk, Lance's best friend since middle school also got out of the car, already prepped and ready to cook on one of the many grills placed randomly around the beach for when people wanted to do cookouts or any other fun family/friend events. He looked around and frowned, putting their bag of food and cooking supplies back in the car. Lance turned around to face Hunk, "Dude... maybe everyone is at a different beach or something?" He said, clearly looking slightly frightened and confused.
"I doubt everyone would just disappear and go to a different beach, what if something bad happened?" Hunk bit his lip, letting his mind jump to many terrible conclusions, "What if... some deadly disease was released into the air and uh... its extremely toxic and you're supposed to stay in your houses??!" He suggested frantically.
Lance shook his head violently, "N-no!! Hey man, just calm down. Let's look for someone; I'm sure there has to be someone around here??" He said, trying his best to calm his friend down. Lance and Hunk both walked with eachother along the beach, Hunk had his cooking knife in hand incase anything sketchy was to happen. Suddenly, almost 7 minutes after they first began looking around- in the distance they saw what looked like one person running quite quickly at them, seeming to be trying to yell for them to run. Lance and Hunk stared at the person as they got closer and yelled at them both in an annoyed tone, "DO YOU HEAR ME NITWITS??! RUN! THEY ARE COMING!" The stranger in the army green turtleneck and grey sweatshirt yelled.

{ I apologize for making the prologue very short,,, I wasn't actually gonna make a prologue but I really love having points of leaving readers in suspense to start off the story, and also having them very confused since this is the beginning and unless you understand who this person might be or what "they" might be,, it's pretty excruciating to have to wait until chapter 1. I'm planning on writing both the Klance fic called meeting once more and this one whenever I can,,, so look out to reading both of these I guess!
