Aruni pov
I had let that slum gate guy back down the drain. I regretted instantly but... I could not help it. I really don't know how and why it happened. It was like sparks of electricity just fused into my body through his hands. I felt week and helpless which is why I let go his hands without intending to.
He was a tall and fit man in his mid or late 20s . He had straight ,jet black hair and eyes that could make you speechless.
I felt a sense of familiarity. But how is that possible? He was new to this place, I heard him speaking to Kruthi after she helped him out.
When Kruthi asked him his name, I heard him say Aman Avatar. His voice was more familiar than his face. It was hoarse yet soothing.I wanted to speak to him and apologize for my deed but.. He dint even look at me. Kruthi was so involved in speaking to him, she forgot to introduce me. This dint happen before!
"Aruni, I think we should find out the number of people working near the vesa garment factory, there are around 12 houses that can accommodate people from here! ", I heard Faizal saying, interrupting my thought.
"Yes Faizal! I will go around and find out!".
"By the way, where is Kruthi?"
"She is at the municipal office". I said, pointing at the building I was standing out of.
"okay! Is she busy? "
"Maybe, I think so!". I said, subconsciously grinning.
"Okay then, let's leave to work".
"I'll go to the left block, you go to the right".
"As you say mohtarma!". He said, smiling at my bossy attitude.
After about an hour and half, I came exhausted , to fetch my water bottle I had given to Kruthi.
She was gone!
I tried to call her. She dint pick.I was worried. It was dusk. The temple was close to my house but this slum was pretty far. I could not find an auto or taxi nearby. Since it was in a remote sort of area. There were no bus stops either.
I was mentally cursing Kruthi for beytraying me due what so ever reason she had, during which I heard Faizal ask me if something was wrong with me.
"Kruthi left me back here. I came in her scooty and now she isn't here. I don't know how I'll go back home! " I almost yelled.
"Relax Aruni! I'll drop you. I came on a bike. " he said calming me down.
"OH! Thanks!". I said hesitant.
No matter from how long I knew him. I felt awkward. He belong to an Islamic faith. My parents were against me interacting with people of other religions.I kept convincing them that, he was our leader and it was mandatory to work with him.
I told you. My parents are super orthodox.
It was not the case with Kruthi. Her parents are more broad minded and modern.I told Faizal to drop me at the entrance of my lane and not to my doorstep. I knew my parents would start a drama with this matter.
I thanked him and walked home.
I was too tired to eat my dinner. I jumped to my bed and as soon as my head touched the pillow, I fell asleep.
I heard footsteps . A handsome guy whose smell and feel, felt familiar stood before me . He looked at me like I was the most beautiful and perfect thing that he ever saw.
I blushed and hugged him. He kissed my forehead and I embraced me in his arms. His black eyes, reflected even the colour of the blue scarf that I wore. I took him inside the house and gently pushed him on the sofa. He pulled me along and I slipped to land on his lap. I closed my eyes as he landed soft kisses of affection on my wet lips.
I heard someone getting down the stairs. I got up at once and stood upright.
The footsteps approached us. I could not see who it was. My eyes blurred and as I tried to clear my eyes, I heard a scream of pain. I was shivering, frightened. I rubbed my eyes and opened it to see my man, fallen on the floor, bleeding to death. His mouth was bleeding, his stomach torn with sharp knife. I dropped down and put his head on my lap. He said in whispers "I am dying zu.. Zu Im dying.. I love you."
"Noooo adhiii.. !!! What happened? Who did this??? You can't leave me here! No never!! Neveeerrr!!" I yelled , feeling helpless."It's true ...zu, it.. Ah.. Was.. Ahhh.. Your... You..r.. Ab... bha."
He said using all his breath to give me a clue to his death.
I felt a sudden sharp pain somewr in my mind and it became unbearable!I woke up, sweating profusely!
Such a bad dream to start my day with!
