Chapter 14

Scarlet stormed her way all the way up to her room in the Slytherin dorms fuming. This was utterly humiliating, the utter peek and climax of all these years fancying him and it had ended with him being a twat and making her spit out that she liked him.

In a way it was a real rush, all her feeling had finally bubbled to the surface... But could never show her face again. Surely he would be telling all of their mutual friends about how she'd blushed so much and been so awkward about fancying him, and he'd probably embellish that she threw herself at him or something.

Well she hadn't. This whole time she'd tried her best to restrain herself. It wasn't her fault if her feelings showed through. Perhaps she wasn't the cunning Slytherin she'd thought she'd grown into. Perhaps it was totally obvious the whole time and everyone was laughing behind her back?

Well it was bloody out now either way. She'd told him in no un-certain terms, it was clear and simple. It was just highly unfortunate that it had be revealed this way.

Scarlet threw herself onto her bed and screamed into her pillow. It was mortifying. No teenage girl should have to go through this. Your crush of so many years practically pulling out the rejection conversation as though pulling out teeth in a dentistry office.
Pansy would be so happy, Scarlet thought bitterly.
Again she screamed into her pillow.

"Oh my merlin Scar are you alright?" Zilah said sounding worried as she slowly came into the room after having seen Scarlet stomping her way towards their dorm looking very distressed passing the food hall. She hadn't even seemed to have heard Zilah calling out her name when she passed.

"I thought you were being attacked up here or something" Zilah said now looking around the room for the phantom monster. "Mfffmmamfmfmmf" said Scarlet into her pillow. "What?" Zilah asked laughing coming to sit on the side of Scarlet's bed with her.

Scarlet raised her head slightly from the pillow "I SAID my heart has been attacked" she said dramatically. "Right?" Zilah said questioningly raising an eyebrow. "And how exactly does ones heart get attacked?" she asked confused. "Bloody Draco Malfoy rips it out of your skin, that's how" Scarlet said turning on her side away from the muffling pillow so she could better talk to Zilah.

Tears were in her eyes and obviously from seeing the wet spots on the pillow she'd let more than a few escape. One such tear trickled down her face now from the red hot embarrassment. Zilah made a sympathetic face towards her friend and wiped the tear from her cheek.

"Oh pet" she said solemnly. "What did he do? Do you want me to Ask Seamus if he can practice his potions near him sometime so it blows up in his face?" Zilah said jokingly trying to lighten the mood. "Yes" Scarlet nodded very much liking the idea. Both girls laughed.

"So what exactly did he do?" Zilah asked carefully finally feeling Scar was a little more ready to talk about it. "Well he followed me out to the tree, you know where I like to sit... he followed me, I never asked him to come! and he tried to FORCE me to say I fancied him so he could very slowly and agonizingly tell me he doesn't like me that way... AND that I had his permission to go ahead and date Neville! Can you believe it!?" Scarlet said face palming herself over the atrocity "his permission!!!" she added animatedly. "No I really can't" Zilah said confused.

That didn't make sense at all. Zilah was almost certain that Draco liked Scarlet back... maybe even first. Sure it had taken her a while to clue on... ok a long while, but once she had it seemed undoubtable to her from observing Draco that he liked Scar. This just didn't seem right.

"Are you sure it went exactly like that Scar?" Zilah asked trying to make sense of it. "Well allow me a little drama my hearts just been broken" Scarlet said still with her hand over her face. She just couldn't deal with it all. "Well what exactly did he say?" Zilah asked wanting to get the bottom of the situation.
