"Goodbye John."

"Sherlock!" Martin watched from the street as Ben's form fell from the roof of the building. It wasn't hard to stay in character as he watched his friend fall. He hated this. It was the third take and he was beginning to lose himself in the character, finding it harder and harder to fight the pain rising in his chest.

He knew it was fake, logically. He knew it wasn't really Ben he saw jumping from the roof. He knew it was a stunt double, but it was hard to push the image of Ben falling from his mind. They had already filmed the scene after The Fall, where John fought through the crowd to be with Sherlock. That was hard enough to film as it was, now this?

It was going to be a long week.

"And that's it for the day boys! See you all tomorrow!" The street was filled with chatter as the crew started taking down the equipment. Martin ran his fingers through his hair, fighting to breathe through the panic that gripped his gut. He raced for his trailer, hoping that a drink of water would help him calm down.

He accidentally bumped into Mark Gatiss, simply smiling tightly and waving in apology before racing towards his trailer.

"Hey Mark! How'd it look on your end?" Ben asked, grinning at the writer as he pulled off the heavy coat of Sherlock Holmes. He loved playing the character, but the coat was heavy and made him overheat when they worked outdoors.

"It was great Ben! Have you spoken to Martin yet?" Ben frowned, shaking his head and looking around. He couldn't see Martin anywhere.

"No, why? Is he okay?" Ben became concerned when he couldn't find his friend. He didn't like leaving Martin alone after they filmed rough scenes, the older man tended to get too emotionally invested in his characters. "Where is he?"

"I saw him heading for his trailer about ten minutes ago. He looked a little upset." Ben nodded and hurried towards Martin's trailer.

He reached the door and knocked lightly. He could hear Martin bustling around in the trailer, so he waited patiently for his friend to open the door. He waited for two minutes before knocking again. It was unlike Martin to ignore the door.

"Martin? Are you in there?"

"Ben?" The door flew open and Ben's heart sank. Martin was clearly panicking, his face flushed and breathing unsteady. "H-Hey Mate, what- uh what's up?"

"God, Martin." Ben climbed into the trailer, pushing past his friend and closing the door behind him. "What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing. Just, you know, unwinding."

"Martin, don't lie to me." Ben grabbed his friend by the shoulders and stooped slightly to look into his eyes.

"What? I-I'm not- it-it's just-" Ben frowned and Martin stopped talking, sighing heavily and rubbing his face in his hands. "Sorry man, it's just- that last scene- y-you fell-" Ben's heart broke for his friend and he pulled him against his chest, rubbing his back softly and shushing the distressed man.

"It's alright Martin, I'm here. I'm right here." Ben hated seeing his friend so upset. He pulled back and took the shorter man's face in his hands. "See? I'm right here. Look at me Martin, I haven't gone anywhere. It was just a scene-" His words were cut off by Martin's lips crashing into his own. He let out a shocked sound and stumbled back, tripping on the uneven floor and falling to the small sofa. Martin stayed standing, his hands threaded into his hair and skin flushed a deep crimson.
