Chapter 6
“Where are we going?” I screeched.
“Where are we?” I hear Izzie add.Cory was too stunned to say anything.
Amazingly enough, after that, someone told us to be quiet but took the cover off our heads and put blindfolds over our eyes. What a relief! this is when it comes in handy to have eyes in the back of your head because the blindfold is not covering the back of our heads. So, after the three people jumped into the front of the van, we realized they were driving off with us in the back. We were finally able to get our bearings to figure out where we were and what options we had. We got a view of the inside of the van but realized there was nothing there to help us. We decided to focus on the people in the front of the van to see what we could understand their plans might be. We could hear from the cab of the van that they were taking us to a warehouse. There the scientists were going to do testing on us to see what was causing these special powers. The scientists want to either stop the special powers or accentuate them and force us to work for them. The people in the front of the van were just their goons. Hired hands that were to deliver us to the scientists and shut up about it. The problem was they seemed to be discussing was that they couldn’t drive into the warehouse. They had to pull up front of it, load us from the van and lead us into the main doors of the warehouse to the special room they had put together to contain us. This was set up to be a medical-type facility where they would do the testing. We were in luck! If they had to take us out of the van and into the warehouse, we could try to escape. We spent the rest of the time talking almost silently to each other, planning how we would escape. After a few minutes, we had a plan that we felt would work . . . and allow us to have “wheels!” Thank goodness, I could drive! I was trying not think or ask about what Cory said. We really need to focus here and I can not have any distractions. What kind of leader would I be if I was even the one who brought up the distraction.
