Humble Beginnings

I was just out of college and I had a lot of student loans to pay, so my friend tells me he saw a flyer the other day for an extermination company that is hiring. He also said that he could get me a job their because his friend is the CEO of the company. Oh how rude of me I forgot to introduce myself my name is Max. The day I got that job at the extermination company is the day my life stared to turn around.

I made some new work friends at that job whenever we could work together we would we became the best team of the whole company. Typically it was the usual job termites, beetles, roaches, on the occasion we got rats or mice but nothing big. Until one day we got a call and we didn't know it yet but we were not prepared to face what was coming.

We got a normal for rats. So we got the rat poison and the gasser and left for the address. When we got there we asked where the problem was and he said in the basement. So we went down the steps to his basement and when we reached the bottom of the steps we came face to face with a giant rat it must have been at least my hight and 3 times my mass it was gargantuan. All I could think to do in that moment was start spraying gas in its face so I flipped the switch on the gasser and that basically did the job although i was worried that I might have to reveal my true identity.

The one thing my friends .... Oh my friends i forgot to introduce them too man i'm terrible at this story telling thing oh well. My friends names are: Adam, Amy, and Dan. As I was saying the one thing my friends don't know about me is that i'm secretly a wizard.

Yup that's right i'm a wizard although their are many types of wizards, me personally i'm an attack mage but their are defensive and healer mages as well. so if i had to i could have wiped out that rat in one fell swoop but then my secret would be revealed. Good thing i'm learning a powerful mind wipe spell so that will come in handy. And it did come in handy but we'll talk about that later.

After the rat incident we got more calls for large animals. A week after we got our first call for a semi-mythological creature. The phone rang and I picked it up the man on the other side of the phone said he had a troll problem, at that moment I thought trolls don't exist and even if they did we did not have anything to get rid of trolls. So i told the man he was only imagining things. He said he definitely wasn't imagining things so i told him that this prank call wasn't funny. After that the call slowed down he did not speak for a while them he spoke very soft and he said "Sir I assure you that I need your assistance". After that I told him that we would do our best to assist with whatever the problem was but I also assured him that we don't have anything for trolls. He said that's fine he just wanted us to come over and assess the situation. So we grabbed everything we could fit in the back of the truck so we were prepared for whatever we may face and started for the address.

Once we got there we opened the door and went through normal procedures and asked the residents of the house where the problem was. The old man told us it was in the attic so we climbed up the latter to the attic and lone behold there was a troll. So we got the net then it spoke in a screechy voice "I will cooperate as long as you help me find my way home." so we agreed to his terms and helped him find his home. From that day on I never doubted that these types of creatures existed. After that things progressed from trolls to goblins to dwarves to elves and so on the largest thing we've had to date is a Giant about 14' tall.

You might be thinking " But Max how did you deal with these creatures" that is a long story so pay attention you don't want to miss anything. As the creatures got larger the job got harder. I did not know it yet but my friends also had special skills of their own those skills would be revealed to me in time but it would be a slow agonizing process and this is where I begin.

So I figured out their general skills pretty quickly and i told them mine Amy lone behold is a healer mage, Dan is fantastic with modern technology like guns he is a fantastic shot with anything you give really slingshots, bow and arrow guns but he us also a tech savvy person that is good with computers he also occasionally uses bobs and other tech, Adam is the complete opposite of Dan he is good with medieval tech like sword and shield and surprisingly lancing he is also very bulky so his body acts like a suit of armor. And you all know my skill i'm an attack mage. But within these skills each person that has a skill like this also has what i like to call a super skill. A super skill is where the person using his or her super skill uses up all their energy in an all out attack, although with Amy it is not an all out attack it is a super heal, but anyway it is basically all their skill put into one super powered skill.

Adam's super skill is he can bring to life the skeletons of the dead as warriors to do the fighting for him his super skill was revealed to us when we were facing an undead foe a zombie and what else could beat the undead besides the undead. Dans super skill is he is able to reveal his cyborg form or half human half robot this was revealed to us when the AI on this one guys super computer went haywire and came to life and in order to hack into the system and shut it down he had to go into cyborg mode.

Amy's skill like i said is a super heal and is able to heal those near death and even cure incurable diseases her skill was revealed to us when we were dealing with a creature that absorbs souls so all of us were really almost on the verge of death. then she used her ability to cure us so we were ready to fight again.

My skill was never really "revealed" well i have used it in front of them but at that point i had learned that mind wipe spell i told you about earlier so they never remembered what i did but they know i have done it and i do have a super skill. My friends don't know it and they never will and neither will you unless drastic measures must be taken or their are to many people to mind wipe.
