The Scientist

ok enough backstory I wake up at 6am, i get dressed and i drive down to the office building of our corporation. i get there and immediately start working on filling all of our reviews for the month. You see the reason i was in the office today is once a month at the end of the month the company has a mandatory office day so we can compile everything for the month. anyway i was working on that when my phone rang so i picked up the phone and said "Pest control how may i help you" and this deep ominous voice came over the phone "I will be needing your services soon" it said i knew whoever it was they were using a voice over. so i ran through the typical crap "We would be happy to help i just need your name, address and phone number and we can set up a date" their was a bunch of static at first so i thought we might have a bad connection but then the voice came over again "That won't be necessary" it said "i'll be calling again soon" then he  hung up i tried to track the number thinking it was some stupid kids prank call but i couldn't track it.

I tell my friends about my strange encounter and they say that they got the exact same call i thought it was a little creepy how it happened to us and no one else. i wake up the next morning fully prepared for the day we did not have any work that day so we all decided to hang out at our favorite cafe. once i get there we all sit and order then strike up a conversation. we are in the middle of our meal when all at once our phones start to ring so we all answer. We all ask who is on the other side of the line and again the deep voice comes over "it's me" the voice said and we all knew we were all on the line with the same person from yesterday so the voice tells us "all except one of you hang up the the last one put your phone on speaker but make sure that no passerby can overhear" so everyone in the group hung up except for me the conversation continued "once you are done with that their is something i want to discuss with you all" so we asked him what he wanted "your help" it said "with what?" Amy replied "I need you to capture a beast and bring it to me alive" we thought about it and had a few questions for him "We have some questions" i said, he said "Fine each of you gets one question; proceed" i started with my question "Who are you?" he replied "You can call me The Scientist" now it was Dans turn "Why do you want it alive?" he said, "To do experiments" the voice replied we immediately wonder what he meant by "experiments" but we had so many questions and did not want to waste one of our last ones. Amy asked "how are we supposed to get the creature to you if we don't know where you are" again piercing static then the voice "I will have my assistants pick it up from wherever you are located " an our last and most important question was asked by Adam "so what exacly are we after here what creature do you want us to catch" The voice spoke "oh that's easy" he paused "a gryphon" he said it in the most mona tone voice i have ever heard so i knew he wasn't lying "A what?" i reacted then he said "I said one question each no more" then he added "If you don't do this," he paused and then yelled "I WILL NOT HESITATE TO KILL YOU ALL" the creepy part is it is almost as if he waited till their was no one around. because he did not yell until the diner had cleared except for us.

We discussed for a moment to make a basic plan of how to do this but before we could we got a text that seemed to be the coordinates of where it was located {25°N, 71°W} The coordinates of the Bermuda triangle, the text also contained the amount we would be payed {$1,000,000,000,000}. do the next morning we packed our bags and drove from our headquarters in Missouri to Florida it was a long arduous drive, especially since the rest of the group decided that along the way they would sing the typical road trip songs, finally we got to Florida and we went straight to the docks to find a boat  we searched for about 3 hours but no boats would take us because of the coordinates, so we put a rest to our search for the day, we spent the night at my uncles house, He is a really nice fella but uncle Tim cam be a little strict especially since he is a police officer.

The next day we decided to start out search again but this time lady luck was on our side we were at the docks and we were searching for someone to take us then my phone, the one we told The Scientist to call from now on, started ringing and lone behold it was The Scientist i answered the phone with a snarky "What do you want?" he replied calmly "I have payed for a boat for you to use" then he just hung up we looked around and saw 5 boats so we figured that one of them was ours. so we decided to ask the captains of each boat if they were the ones taking us, we went up to the first captain who was a big burly man in a very casual outfit like it was something that he wore normally with a scruffy chin and his name was Miles, but sadly Miles was not our captain. We moved on to the next boat, the captain of this boat was like the typical sailor boy outfit and all but that's not what bothered me about him what bothered me was the fact that he wouldn't stop smiling, i literally tried to stop him from smiling but he wouldn't stop so we decided to get away from him as fast as possible once we figured out he was not our guy, i never knew his name.The next boat's captain was a female in a very military looking outfit with her hair in a bun her name was Amanda but her boat sadly was not the one we were looking for. The next guy was really weird, not as weird as the smiley guy but still weird, he was in a scuba suit and his name was also a little peculiar, his name was Cade. so the last boat was ours we scoured the deck in search of the captain but we did not find one so we waited, and waited..., and waited......... until finally someone appeared from the boathouse he climbed up into the boat and we took off without hesitation he did not even stop to tell us his name, it was dusk once we had set sail but before we could make our way to the beds in the lower deck i had a few questions for our captain as i found out his name was Jeremy but he did not give me more information. Jeremy anchored the boat and without any more questions i headed to sleep and so did he, i would need all the rest i could get for what was in store the next day.
