Karam wiggled free. Once she was out she stood up, "of course, Mother and Father are a different story. I can only hope father will overcome himself and confess to mother like he told me he wanted to do!" Though he said no such thing, Karam laughed and bolted away.
While Karam had gotten used to her new self, he had begun playing with people's hearts like this. In this life Karam had gained a taste for trouble making and a slightly sadistic streak. She would say things like that and than wait to see what would become of them.
Of course, if it went wrong and they began resenting each other than Karam would admit that it was a lie and use her puppy dog eyes to make them feel bad for putting her in the middle of it.
Karam laughed as she made her way to her favorite tree. It was a cherry tree she'd found one time when she had snuck away from the caretakers. As she was Japanese, she had a special place in her heart for the blossoms of the tree and sitting under it made her feel at home.
Dolph joined her a little while later and, without even looking up at him, she reclaimed her seat on his crossed legs.
"Do you think I really am their daughter? I've hid under their bed several nights and they haven't even said a word to each other! It's not that I'm going to refuse them as parents of anything... but how is it that a grown man could keep his hands off of a woman that lays right next to him all night every night? It's ridiculous." Karam was worried about drama that might unfold when her father tried to take the thrown.
"Hm... I think you are their daughter. They were the ones who raised you, no matter what that is an irreplaceable-"
"I know that! I'm not saying I want my real parents, if there are other ones out there. I'm just having trouble figuring out why their feelings haven't matched up yet. I think they would make a great couple! And I'm not just saying that because of how intimately they act in public. Ugh! Nevermind, I don't care. Some relationships are just like that." the Young Princess turned back upside down.
Karam felt better after getting it all off her chest. The two sat in silence for a time, "Did you really want to go to the academy?" in the room, he had fought for it, but it didn't seem like he was fighting with all he had. Of course, one of the reasons could be because he really did feel guilty for something.
He didn't reply for a time. "No, not really. I figured it would be what you wanted." Dolph thought about lying, but knew little got past her.
"So you did it because of my feelings?"
"Well..."
"That hurts." before he could even explain, she spoke up against it.
He laughed nervously.
Karam didn't say anything for a time. She had always wondered if what he said about going against a princess was what he really thought. "Do you ever do anything just because of what I was born into? Because I might be able to strip everything you love away from you one day and turn you back into nothing? Do you ever go easy or spare my feelings just because I'm the new hope, or just because I'm royalty?"
Dolph looked at her, "Yes." He replied seriously and honestly.
"I see." Karam watched the cherries and leaves for a time. She felt as if her lover had just admitted that his love was all a farce. "If I asked you to treat me like a friend, to stop going easy on me, would you?" Karam asked slowly; as if she didn't really want to hear the answer.
Dolph didn't say anything for a while, too. It was a lot to ask. Especially for a person like him who knew that his place was firmly below her. In the first place, he didn't even believe that she was honestly from another planet for a while. Although, he was slowly coming around.
