Jason and I went back inside. I immediately rushed to the bathroom, hoping to fix my running mascara.

With me, I don't ever wear makeup. All I wear is mascara. For this, I don't really know the brands of makeup there are in the whole world.

I left the bathroom to find everyone starting to serve themselves with food, passing the bowls and plates of food around. I sat in my seat in between Antonio and Jason.

"Ah! There you are, sweetie! I already made you a plate." Mom informed me, passing down my plate to Antonio. He then gave it to me.

"Oh! Uh, thanks, mom."

After awhile of people talking and laughing, mom stood up.

"Now, of course, there is a reason that I called you all here." Mom began.

"As you know, I been working extremely hard and past my limit of exhaustion for this very moment; I got a promotion!" Mom exclaimed. Everyone clapped for her accomplishment.

S-she got a promotion...that means...

NO!

I dropped my fork of my plate once everyone stopped. I was able to suppress the tears, yet you can hear the sadness in my voice.

"Honny, are you okay?" Mom asked, quite dumbfounded.

"Y-yeah. I just need to talk. To Jason." Jason and I got up. "We'll be right back."

We walked up the stairs. Along the way, Jason perpetually whispered questions to me. We made it to my room, and Jason closed the door behind us. That's when I broke free, letting the tears run down my cheeks. Jason rushed over to me.

"Hey, babe, what's wrong? What's so bad about your mom getting a promotion? That's a great thing, in fact!" Jason attempted to comfort, yet that made me cry even more.

"Jason, you don't understand! This means that... that..."

"That what?" He asked.

"That I have to move!" I finally answered, finally making eye contact with him.

She stood there; shocked. I felt his body lock up.

"I will have to move! Move from the farm! Move from the animals... move from you." I added.

After awhile, he responded,"Let's get married." My eyes widened at the thought.

"Jason, we can't do that! We wouldn't have the money!"

"So, we'll get jobs."

"Its not that easy, Jason. We don't know how city people are! Besides, where would we live? Don't forget that my father would murder me."

"That's true, I'm sorry. It was just a stupid thought," he sighed "I don't know what you can do."

I sighed,"I only have one option; that's to move."
