A.N. Hello hello hello!!!  Look who is back with another fanfiction. How you doing, lovelies? I really worked up some imagination and cliché-ness for this one so I hope you like it. 💚

Receiving phone calls were supposed to be fun.

Some time in the past.

It was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Lauren wore a black hoodie together with her  worn out ripped jeans and favorite combat boots. Her head swayed side by side constantly searching for a certain brunette. It was then when she heard a high pitched scream. "Lauren!" The brunette that made Lauren's heart skip, screamed as her bags hit the ground. Her feet running, and running, until it reached it's destination. With a last jump wrapping both her legs, and arms around the pitch black haired girl.

Lauren's hands finding its way to the base of the girl's thighs supporting the girl now latching on her body. A soft smile was brought about her lips along with a tug at her heart strings. "Hey baby, welcome home." Lauren rasped out.

It was the kind of tone her girlfriend loved hearing very much. Lucy shot back a wide grin to her girlfriend. "I hate going away, and leaving my baby. " Lucy said, pulling her body a little, so she could see the green eyes she's fallen in love with.

A heavy sigh left Lauren's lips, begging to never let this moment end. "I always ask you to stay, but we both know, you can't." Lauren said, as she tucked a few strands of hair behind the brunette's ear. Lucy sighed heavily, her eyes immediately falling.

Lauren hated this conversations. She hated the fact that she couldn't do much about their situation other than be understanding and faithful. "I'm starting to hate my work." Lucy pouted. A pout which Lauren kissed away. It made Lauren's heart drop hearing the sadness embedded in her girlfriend's tone.

"Come on, we both know you love your work. " She said, as she rubbed her girlfriend's back soothingly. She tried to convince her girlfriend to not be sad, or maybe she was trying to convince herself as well.

Lucy's heart fluttered at the sweetness in Lauren's voice. It's one of the many things she loved about her. Her thoughtfulness and understanding. "I do, but I love you too, and I hate not being with you." Lucy said, placing her hands on the side of Lauren's face, caressing her cheeks.

"Well, we always have each other when you come home anyways, plus we do text, and face time all the time. " Lauren retaliated convincing herself more than she was trying to convince her girlfriend.

"Yeah, but it's not the same." Lucy pouted as her face fell. Lucy was right and both of them knew it. They were both just to stubborn to admit the fact that slowly they're both miserable without the other.

Lauren sighed heavily, finding the right words to cheer her girlfriend up. "Hey. I know, Lu. I wish our situation is different but we'll make it work okay? You know, we have for a long time now. " Lauren said, placing a finger on Lucy's chin lifting her head up to meet the chocolate eyes of the brunette.

Tears at the bring of falling from her eyes, Lucy felt a tight squeeze in her chest. "I know, but it doesn't make it any easier." Lucy muttered finding it difficult to hide her sadness.

A soft smile was painted on Lauren's face, the situation is sad but she was growing tired of this conversation. "I know, baby, but can we please stop being sappy, and let's actually enjoy our time together?" Lauren hushed,  grabbing the girl's face, and giving her a chaste kiss on her forehead.

Her face lit up at the suggestion, unclasping her body from the green-eyed girl. "Okay, what are we going to do?" Excitement evident in her voice.
