Lauren
The minute they hit the pavement near Dinah's house, Lauren's breath hitched as if someone was tugging on her throat, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Yes, she has interacted with her family, Dinah and a handful of strangers whenever they would go out. But this was something new to her, considering she hasn't been around others like this in a while. Ever since Lucy she hasn't really placed in any effort to interact with much humans again.
Growing aware of Lauren's current dilemma, Dinah placed her hands on her knee. Pressing it slightly as a sign of support. "Hey. Hey. It's going to be okay. Yeah?" Dinah said, her voice calming Lauren in the slightest way possible. She gave her slight nod and released a shaky breath that she seemed to have been caging for the duration of the ride. They made their way out of the car only to have Lauren frozen in her place.
"Come on. " Dinah said grabbing her hand and leading them to her house.
The minute they did set foot inside the house the harmonious sounds of thepiano blending with the most beautiful voices could be heard from her living room. Hearing the piano being played wasn't new to Lauren in fact she found solace in playing it as well. However, my god did the sounds gave her chills down her spine. W
"God, I miss those voices of yours. " The girl beside her said as they both stared at the other two girls sitting by the grand piano.
"Yeah. It's been awhile. Is that the famous Lauren we've heard so much about?" The smaller girl of the two said. She had golden blonde hair, her face painted with such happiness and glee. Her innocent and friendly features making almost impossible not to make Lauren smile.
"In the flesh. " Dinah smirked placing both of her hands on Lauren's shoulder. Thrusting her in a meter closer to the girls as if she was a present. The blonde girl giving me a soft smile and a slight wave while the brunette beside her barely looking up, her eyes trained to her phone.
"Hey, I'm Ally!" She got up from her seat and held out her hand for Lauren to shake which she immediately did. Realizing the other barely noticed the interaction Dinah got a pillow and baseball shot it to her other friends face.
Once the pillow came in contact with her face it caused her to look up glaring at the Polynesian. "Fuck, Dinah! " The brunette groaned only to receive a slight chuckle from everyone in the room.
"Well, I wouldn't have done that if you paid attention to our visitor here." Dinah stated not even hiding the fact that she enjoyed what she did and got a good laugh out of it.
"You didn't have to be a dick about it." Rolling her eyes at the other. Then her eyes fell on the green-eyed girl as if she was trying to psychoanalyze Lauren with just one look. "I'm Camila." Her voice clearly filled with disinterest in the matter and forcing a smile .
"Forgive her rudeness. She's just dealing with something with her phone. " Ally waved her off before I could even respond.
"I-It's fine, I don't mind. As Dinah said I'm Lauren. Lauren Jauregui. " Lauren stuttered a little from being in this new environment but not failing to give a small smile.
They began to walk to the kitchen even if Dinah just mauled her fridge 30 minutes ago. When suddenly the smaller girl seemed to be deep in thought before saying, "Jauregui? Why have I heard that name before?" Her brows knitted together trying hard to connect some dots.
"M-Maybe it's just one of those names."Clearing her throat a little. Leaving Ally not to question further after Dinah began taking things out of her fridge.
Lauren stayed still on her seat watching the two girls interact with each other. She began to ponder on how it would be if Lucy was her right now. Would she be happier? Would she be spending the night with them too? Would she stop stuttering every time she would speak? Of course, Lucy served as her better half and without her Lauren was simply lost and broken. Dinah's voice broke her train of thoughts, trying to comprehend her bestfriend's words. "Okay since it's my sleepover i demand all cellphones now. Especially you, Cabello." Her hand held out to the girl in front of me, gesturing for her to give her phone up. The other didn't even hear Dinah which simply infuriated her more. And with that Dinah swiped Camila's phone only to earn a whine from the other girl.
