"The camp is fully sustainable and the kings don't know about this place and all of us, the outcasts of our kingdom." Amalia told me as we walked to the blue eyes section. "Why is everyone sorted by eye colour here?" i questioned her as we passed by a dark cave with people with dark eyes the colour of obsidian. the shadows seemed to cling to them almost like they controlled them. "well some colours don't mix. like red and blue. the reds fire powers don't mix with the blues water and storm powers." She explained to me like it was as plain as day. "wait what do you mean there fire powers and our water and storm powers I'm so confused."
She looked at me with disbelief "your parents never told you what you are capable of?" she basically shouted. "no the kicked me out when i was young they ha brown eyes and couldn't stand to have a blue eyes daughter. I survived as a street rat for a few years on my own until i met Luke when i was twelve." I explained to her.
"And you have never had any idea you had powers" she asked me. "i mean Luke and i joked about it a couple times but other than that no." i told her thinking of all the times Luke and i would joke about being magical and taking down the king. she led me down a path through the woods to a little village with storm clouds brewing above our heads and a river running through the middle of the clay houses. "well then lets see what you can do new girl." Amalia says leading my to the river. "lets start small focus and concentrate on making a small ripple like you dropped a pebble in the river." she told me.
I focused imagining the ripple in my mind and concentrated and imagined it happening. i felt the power flow through me and i opened my eyes and saw the river ripple slightly. "see its not that hard try again but a bigger ripple this time." She encouraged me. once again i closed my eyes and imagined the water rippling underneath my fingers a focused and found that familiar feeling of magic course through my veins and i opened my eyes and watched without losing focus as the small ripple turned slightly bigger and then bigger. "see its easy to do. Now lets go to my house i want to introduce you to my family, well the people who took me in after my birth parents died" Amalia dragged me along to a brown clay house with leaves for a roof. the house had five rooms. two bedrooms a kitchen a bathroom and a living room. "mom dad are you home?" she called out. "I am home your father went to work the fields" a lady walks in with straight dark brown hair similar to mine and way different then Amalia's and a way different facial structure with high cheek bones pursed lips and a pointy nose. "Oh and who are you dear i haven't seen you around you must be new to the camp. I'm kathrine" she introduced herself. "nice to meet you kathrine i am Maria and i am new to all this here Amalia was just showing me how to use my powers." I politely told kathrine. "well i hope you enjoy your stay here at the camp and i assume you have no where to stay so you can stay with us and sleep in amalia's room and i can help you control your powers and learn how to really use them.only if you want to of course" She told me. "i would love that thank you so much kathrine. You to Amalia i look forward to learning how to control my powers now that i know i have them."
