Chapter 11

Present day

~Suddenly there is a knock at the Carly's door. Carl opens it to see a frantic Shane standing there he runs in and starts braking orders.
"Carly pack whatever you need and let's get out of here!"Shane said getting food from her cabinets.
"Shane, what's going on."She says scared of the answer.
"Remember the virus that were turning people into cannibals well that virus is here and we need to go."Shane said still taking food.Carly runs up stairs and packs what ever she feels is necessary. She packs clothes, tampons, a hair brush, the gun Shane  got her on her 25th birthday, the two daggers her dad gave her on her 18th birthday, and last but not least the picture of Rick and Shane. She didn't have to pack the necklace she already had it on,  then she remembers something, Rick.
"Shane, what about Rick?"Carly says as they are walking out the door.Shane looks at her with sad eyes and starts to shake his head.
"The power went down at the hospital. I didn't know if he was dead or not so I put my ear to his chest and I didn't hear a heartbeat Carly. I'm so sorry."He says with tears in his eyes.Carly could not belive it. Her twin brother her only brother was dead and there was nothing she could do about it. Carly knew it was no time to grive that when they got out of the city and where safe she could grive. Carly just pulls him into a tight hug for a minute then heads to the car to see Lori and Carl in the back seat with tears in their eyes.Carly throws all their stuff in the back set and jumps in the front and they drive off.About 30 minutes down the road Carly notices Shane with tears in his eyes and hands shake so she tells him to pull the car over so they can talk for a minute Carly pulls him behind a tree so no one can see them.Carly lifts his head up.
"Look at me baby, I know that he was your best friend and he was my brother but right now we have to be strong. Lori and Carl they need us. I know it's hard just to say that like it's nothing but we have each other okay. We will make it through this together no matter how long it takes. My heart is broken because he is...was my only brother. The only blood I had left, and now he is gone. But we have to stay strong. Promise me you will try to stay strong."Carly starts to cry at the lost of her brother.
"Shane, baby, promise me."Shane nods his head yes and Carly pulls him into her arms. She and him cry in each others embrace for a minute then they head back to the car. On to the journey of no one knows where.
