An alarm blared loudly, waking a young woman up from her deep slumber. She laid still for a few moments beforemove even attempting to stop the intrusive noise. Alex reluctantly sat up on her bed after a couple of minutes. She stretched her arms and legs while silently yawning. Slowly, she pulled herself out of bed and went shuffled to the bathroom to prep herself; showering, brushing her teeth and hair.
Too tired for today. Let's just wait to do stuff until tomorrow
Dragging her feet over to where her armour and undergarments hung, she began to dress. It took a lot of will power to not just go back to bed and sleep for a few more hours. Despite her body's protest to the early rising, she finished getting ready.
Alex doubled checked everything before heading out the door to the cafeteria for something to eat. Some of her medication require her to eat a meal before ingesting. She doubt that the medics would allow her to skip a breakfast when she supposed eat. Plus, there was bound to be a cup of coffee somewhere for her to down.

Alex grinned to herself as she grabbed her cup of black coffee. The feeling of caffeine waking up her body's system was something she'd never miss. She quickly grabbed a small tray of a breakfast and sat down be herself, not that she minded.
Eager to taste the bitter black liquid, Alex took her helmet off and took a sip from the white porcelain mug. There was a twinge of disappointment in her heart the moment the coffee made it past her lips. The taste was bland, far from the robust, bold flavours from the coffee shop she'd regularly visit back home. But, her home was now here.
I'd be much appreciated of some caffeine with flavour, rather than this dark water.
It's fine, ya' pansy. Just drink it and eat already, then we can get the meds and crap.
Noooo... stop swearing...
A surge of sleepiness passed over her for a moment. It lasted a moment too long, urging her to take another swing of coffee, which she did. Disheartened by the lack of quality in her mug, she stared vacantly at the steam that seeped up from the warm coffee.
A hand laid on her shoulder, making her jump slightly. Alex turned her head to see who it was as the person took a seat next to her. "Sorry to tell ya', but the coffee here is decaf."
"Even worse," Alex grumbled, glancing at agent Carolina and pushing the drink away. "Decaf is the purest form of cruelty. I need my caffeine."
Carolina chuckled at her reaction to the minor revelation. "I don't disagree with you."
With a soft sigh, BC dug her fork into the small pile of scrambled eggs. "Would you mind telling me what the missions are like? I'd love to know what I'm getting into." She asked before takeoff a bite.
"Sure, why not," she replied.

BC stared at the digital schedule. She read over the names and times that were listed, hoping to find a decent hour to place herself. It had been too long since she had a good workout, and she was eager to get to do something. After talking with Carolina, it appeared that missions came at consistent times, but not too frequently for newer agents. Might as well bode her time by keeping in top shape.
What kind of training ya' got in mind? Kinda feeling like doing some hand-to-hand combat.
No, I want to do some endurance running! I wanna stay fast.
Not to worry, I'm going to select a more encompassing type of training. We'll each get a bit of something.
Finally finding a acceptable time slot, BC entered in her name and the type of training. Satisfied with the outcome, Alex turned to leave but freezes when she saw someone else in the room she had not seen enter.
The counsellor stood tall with a calm expression. There was a part of her that felt a little unease around him.
"Agent British Columbia," he captured her attention, "I see that you have found our training schedule," BC nodded. "As I am happy to see your taking advantage of our facilities, I have request for you.
"Agent South Dakota has volunteered to match you in combat. The director wishes to see your abilities in your new suit and what you'll bring to the team. And I'm sure your new teammates will want to see too."
BC stood for a full moment, processing the request. "Oh, okay," she responded hesitantly. There was a cold sting of nervousness starting to cloud her senses.
I don't like this. I don't want too. I don't like it. I don't want people to watch.
Despite the twisting in her stomach, she forced herself to look relaxed. "Sure, I don't mind," she gritted through her teeth. The counsellor gave a small, hardly noticeable, look that suggested he could tell how strained she was. "How," She tensed and tried not to stutter, "many will there be?"
"Possibly 9 or 10 at the most, but there are a few who may not wish to watch." He informed BC. She nodded. "I think it's best for you take a walk, there's still part of this ship you have not seen yet."
Alex nodded once again. "Okay,"
