Angry

How do you expect me to NOT be angry, when I grew up watching Disney, where there are queens and kings and their perfect kingdom, filled with the taste of love. In my country, you realise at an early age how nonsensical and bullshit Disney is. How can people LOVE people? Are they out of their minds? When you hush your children as soon as they talk about love outside the family, seriously, how do you expect me to not be angry!

How do you expect me to not cry alone, when you were not there to tell me it is okay, in the first place. When you never wanted to hear what bothers me, how do you expect me to share? I don't remember the last time you told me, "It's okay, it is human nature. Don't be scared of love, darling. Because the one for you is still out there, waiting. Just as you are."

How do you expect me to not be angry, when I grew up watching Hollywood. When I imagined myself to be Ron Weasely and Jack Dawson and so much more, but the movie never reached its climax. Because all the Hermiones and Roses are hiding away inside locked doors, scared of the society and other parents like you. When I didn't sweep her off of her feet because she was too scared to fall, how do you expect me to not be angry!

How do you expect me to not be angry, when I'm nineteen already, but didn't see my date becoming the prom queen at seventeen, because, surprisingly, there was no prom. I don't know how it feels to ask a girl out to dance. I don't know what it's like to have dinner with their parents. I don't know what it's like when you see your friends dancing with their dates at the party. But I'm so glad I know what caste my crush belongs to, so I could stop having a crush on her.

How do you expect me to not be angry when all you talk about is wanting to see my kids as soon as I passed my sophomore. I stopped believing in love when a couple had to hang themselves in order to be accepted by society. If that is what we have come to, I'm better off dreaming.
