Episode 1: Dream Big

Summer

William is in his room, sleeping. Suddenly, his father, Dave, enters the room and screams:

Dave: William!

William is waking up.

Dave: Why in the Hell, you're still sleeping?

William: ...

Dave fastly walks towards William and lifts him harshly from his bed. William is surprised and Dave pushed him, hard, towards the door, rushing William to get out of his room.

Dave: I don't want to raise some slow ass slacker. Now go to your mother.

William obeys his father and goes to the living room. His mother, Marta, she's in the kitchen. William calls her and Marta hears him and rapidly grabs him.

Marta: William, stay close to me.

William: ...

Marta: Your father is not himself.

Dave was drinking all night long and arrived extremely drunk, in the morning. So, you can imagine the situation, that Marta and William are facing. Dave wasn't this way in the past. Before he got married to Marta; he seemed disciplined, charming, and respectful. But, when Marta was young; many people gave her bad comments about Dave. But she didn't listen. Now she's facing the real Dave. An alcoholic and an abuser.

Marta: You keep close to me. Ok?

William: ...

Marta hears Dave crashing things, on the second floor. William is wondering what's going on. He can hear his father, cursing and crashing the place upstairs. Screaming Marta's name with hate, with rage, and talking horribly towards her side of the family.

Dave: You guys are worthless trash... trash!!!! Worthless pieces of shit!!!

Marta kneels and tells William:

Marta: Willy, when he gets down here... you run to the door and go to the park. Ok?

William: ...

Marta: Don't look back. Even if he calls you. Just keep running. Wait for me at the park. I'll handle your father.

William walks towards the front door and Dave is coming down the stairs.

Marta: He's coming.

William: ...

Dave arrives in the living room and sees William holding the doorknob.

Dave: Where the hell you're going?!

William: ...

William just stood there, shocked. He's pretty traumatized by his father's behavior. William even sees Dave like a monster, side effects by the trauma. Dave screams at him and attacks him. Marta gets in the way and grabs Dave before he does any harm to William. Marta tells William to run and Dave slaps Marta. Sending her to the ground.

Marta: (*BREATHING HEAVILY*) No...

Dave: Let go of the doorknob, son.

William saw Dave slapping Marta.

Dave: Come, son. I'm not...(*HICKUPS*) going to hurt you...

William stares at his father.

Dave: Ah... looking me like that, eh?

Dave takes out his belt to hit William.

Dave: I'll teach you respect! You damned rat.
