CHAPTER 16

ELLE'S POV

My fear turned three hundred and sixty degrees when Drix's lips touched mine. I don't know how I'll react.

I don't like it, I hate it.

My mind isn't cooperating that much. I'm scared, mad and physically drained. I actually felt relieved when Drix came but I don't think I'm feeling nowhere near safe right now.

He broke the kiss immediately and looked at the guy who's been standing like a total idiot in the corner. He looked really pissed with his evident clenched fist and gritted teeth. He then threw an almost finished cigarette butt in the corner and walked away in haste.

Drix called my name.

"Chanchan, sorry. Kailangan ko lang talagang gawin iyon. Okay ka lang ba? May masakit ba sa'yo" He said with a softened face. Kitang kita sa mga mata niyang nagso-sorry talaga siya.

My heart skipped a beat.

"Iyong puso ko Drix, masakit." Bulong ko sa sarili ko.

Hindi ko napansin iyong reaksyon ng mukha niya, ngayon lang.

He's not smiling like his usual self. Iyong mga mata niya, may halong galit at pag-aalala. He's looking straight at me like his life depended on it. 

"I know I did something na hindi mo nagustuhan. Sorry Chanchan. Hindi ko alam kung anong pumasok sa isip ko. You can call me a beast or a monster, just please forgive me."

I'm speechless. His eyes are turning red like he was about to cry. His eyes left its contact with mine.

"Magiging honest ako sa'yo. Kanina grabe iyong pag-aalala ko kung okay ka lang. Pero ngayong nasa harap na kita, mas nag-aalala ako kung paano pa ako haharap sa'yo sa ginawa ko." Bulong niya. Sa sobrang katahimikan ng paligid, rinig na rinig ko iyong bawat salita na sinambit niya. Kahit iyong paghinga niya.

Inaamin ko, I didn't like the kiss but looking at him right now, I felt like he really didn't mean it and the situation just dragged him to do it.

The wind suddenly blew as the light in the post flickered. The night grew a little more and his eyes met mine again.

"I know this isn't the time to say this. Alam ko na medyo weird 'to para sa'yo. And I have been feeling this lately. Chanchan, I'm sorry about the kiss. I am really sorry! I-"

"It's fine." I interrupted.

"Really?" A slight smile curved on his face. His dimple appeared just as after he smiled. His sweating a lot and it doesn't bother him. Some specks of dirt are even patent on his face. Despite those, he looked gorgeous.

Wait, what?

"Chanchan.." interrupted my thought. "I- ah I like-.."

A sudden flash of light came towards Drix's back. I stupidly looked towards it and instantly regretted it. I had to cover my eyes from its brightness.

May paparating na kotse. Bumusina ito at nagtaka ako, wala naman kami sa gitna ng kalsada. Habang papalapit ito, napansin kong pamilyar ang kotse, pero hindi ako sigurado kung saan ko ito nakita.

Huminto ang sasakyan sa tapat namin ni Drix, bumukas ang pinto nito at lumabas si kuya Zach.

Madali niya akong nilapitan at hinawakan sa magkabilaang balikat. Pawisan siya at suot pa din niya ang jersey na ginagamit niya tuwing practice nila. Bakas sa mukha niya ang pag-aalala. I felt relieved, it's like kuya Zach is a brother I never had. Buti na lang ay pinsan ko siya, I might be one of those girls who always had her heart broken by him.
