3rd person POV

Harry's foot tapped away on the cream colored tile. He was worried that his girlfriend wouldn't make it. After all they've been through, it would be absolutely terrible for Melody to pass away. Don't think like that! Harry scolded himself. He wasn't going to let his doubts get in the way of his hope.

It was eerie and quiet in the waiting room. There was only two other people besides him. It was 2 in the morning, so not many people were being operated on in the cancer hall. Nurses packed up their stuff and let other night shift nurses come through. Some of the them drifted into a deep sleep, but they were awoken when telephones rang. One of the doctors came out of Melody's room and walked over to the waiting area. Harry gulped. He hoped the news would be good.

"Melody has woken up from her coma! But, her tumor isn't so so well. We tried to operate as long as we could, but she woke up and we had to finish quickly. Her next surgery will be at 3 pm," the doctor told Harry the delightful news. Harry was so excited to see Melody again. He was so thankful the doctors had helped her wake up from her slumber.

"Follow me if you wish to see her," the doctor ordered.

Harry sprang up from the plastic chair and walked next to the man. He entered into the room he found himself in almost everyday. Once his eyes met Melody's, he couldn't hold it in. Tears flowed down his face as he wrapped his arms around her. He brushed her hair out of her face and planted many kisses on her lips.

"I th-thought I l-lost y-you," he stuttered.

"I'm not going anywhere," she smiled.

He cried and cried and cried into her arms. The few minutes they sat there seemed like seconds.

"I'll stay with you forever love," he whispered, "I'll always be here."

"I love you," Melody kissed his pink lips. They were truly perfect for each other.

Hours flew by and eventually the surgeons had to kick Harry out of the room to prepare for the surgery. He was absolutely scared for Melody.

"I'll see you soon!" He shouted back to Melody as he left the room. She gave him a quick smile. Harry believed that nothing could stop Melody from living. He couldn't begin to imagine life without her. But, only time could tell their future.
