"She's been like this for ten days, Snart," Mick said over the phone, talking to his former partner in crime. "I don't know what else to do anymore."

"She'll pull through, Mick," Leonard replied. "She's strong. Just have a little faith. It'll all work out."

"She's your sister, man. You sound more optimistic than I do, and I am most certainly not related to her."

"True, but I am not the one who's possibly falling in love with her." Silence on Mick's end. "Mick?"

"I'm here."

"Well, did you hear what I just said?"

"Of course I did." Mick took a deep breath. "Too bad it's a bunch of bull."

"Mick, come on. Think about it. You call me after ten days of Lisa falling ill to a drug, completely beside yourself, and claim that you practically going crazy because there is nothing that you can do. Now, does that sound familiar to you?" Without waiting for him to reply, he continued. "When Sara was kidnapped, I was completely separated from myself because I knew that there was nothing that I could do, except worry about her, and that put me in such a state where I got partially violent. I wanted to beat the crap out of Rip for not trying hard enough to find any lead, whatsoever, to track down my wife. And she was pregnant for God sakes."

"I know, Snart. I was there. I watched what that did to you. I tried to console you many times. Sometimes, you shut me out too. But this is different. Lisa hasn't been kidnapped, she's just been drugged."

"Is it really that different, Mick?" Leonard asked, then waited a few seconds before he continued. "Lisa has been kidnapped by that drug in a way. It's taken her away from you and reality and consciousness. I ask you again. Is it really that different?"

"Snart. I am not in love with her. She's my partner. I can't even afford to think about her like that."

"Whatever you say, Mick." Leonard sighed. "Listen, I've got to go. Sara needs to see her father about something and she needs me to watch Laurel."

"Alright. Well say hello to both of them for me, and you take care. And I'll let you know if there's any change in Lisa's condition."

"Thanks, Mick. I would appreciate that. Think about what I said. Lisa's stubborn, but she's something really special. It would be a shame for my best friend to miss out on something that could really change his life forever."

"Ugh, enough with the love talk, already. I swear, why did you get married in the first place?"

Leonard chuckled. "I'll talk to you later, Mick. Good night."

"'Night." As soon as Mick hung up, he turned his attention back to Lisa. Still no change. He sat down in the chair that he had practically been living in for the past week and a half, and took Lisa's hand into his yet again. He didn't want her to think that she was alone, ever. He was suddenly taken aback by his thought that he just had. Was it really possible that he was starting to really feel something toward her? Yes, he had kissed her forehead a dozen times by now and he continuously held her hand, never wanting to let go. He dropped his head. Oh my God... I think I am falling in love with her. He thought about it in further detail. He never wanted to leave her side. He had freaked out almost uncontrollably when her monitor went off and she was flat-lining. He always found some reason to check her out when they were out on the streets together. And the fact that he wanted to join forces with her was a sheer sign of the obvious.

For the first time, he was falling in love. Mick wanted to hit Snart for proving him wrong. As he focused on Lisa's face, he realized he was looking at her in quite a different light. She looked so weak from all the trauma that she had gone through in the past week alone. Still, from the weakness, there was strength that he saw for the first time. Strength that was going to help her get through this. He squeezed her hand gently to let her know that he was there, rooting for her to keep holding on.

He felt her squeeze his hand back and he smiled. "Come on, Lisa. Find your way back, please." Mick sighed as he leaned on his elbows taking Lisa's hand with him. He pressed his forehead to her hand as if he was trying to reach into the void she was lost in and pull her back up to the surface of reality.

"Any change?" Caitlin asked from the doorway, startling Mick. "Sorry."

"No, it's okay. And no, nothing new." Mick yawned from exhaustion.

"When was the last time you slept properly, Mick?" Caitlin asked.

"I don't remember. I catch a few winks of sleep here and there, but nothing substantial."

"You should really get a good night's rest. Lisa would be furious if she knew that you weren't taking care of yourself. You're no good to her half awake."

"No," Mick replied, shaking his head. "I can't leave her side."

"Mick-"

"I said I'm not leaving her."

Caitlin put up her hands up in defense. "Okay." She walked over to check the monitor for a few moments, saw that everything was normal, as usual, and she made for the exit.

"Caitlin." She stopped and turned around. "I'm sorry for snapping at you. Chalk it up to stress and no sleep. But I really appreciate what you all are doing for me and Lisa."

"It's our pleasure. She'll make it, Mick. Don't you worry."

"It's all I do," he said, then turned back to Lisa as Caitlin took her leave. Mick pressed his forehead to Lisa's hand once again, thinking as if it helped her somehow. Suddenly, he felt something. It wasn't her hand this time. It was something else. He looked down at where her feet were underneath the blanket. Did he imagine that just happened? Her foot moved!

He kept watching it, hoping it would happen again, praying that he didn't dream it. OH! It moved again. He turned his head back to Lisa's face. "Lisa? Can you hear me?" Nothing. "Come on, Lisa. Open your eyes and look at me." She moaned. Her breathing got heavier. At long last, her eyes fluttered open.

Lisa could hear him talking to her. Open your eyes and look at me. She could feel herself coming back, climbing out of the void. When she opened her eyes, she saw Mick standing over her. She smiled slightly and Mick leaned over and kissed her forehead. Her eyebrows burrowed. That was weird and unlike him, but she realized that she didn't mind it. She thought it was sweet. After all, he apparently almost lost her. He had a right to react this way to her regaining consciousness. "Where am I?"

"You're at Star Labs. Oh my God, Lisa. I can't believe you're awake."

"Mick, what happened?" Lisa asked, a little groggy.

"We can talk about that later," Mick said. "Let me go get Caitlin. She's been looking after you." Mick started to leave, but turned back to her. "I'm so glad you're back, Lisa." She smiled. "Don't go anywhere, and stay awake."

"Mick, I don't think I am going to be getting up off this bed anytime soon. I'll be here." Lisa smiled at him.

"Okay, I'll be right back," he said as he left the room in search of Caitlin. His smile only got bigger as he kept his mind on the sight of her opening her eyes. He made a mental note to call Snart later once Caitlin had taken a look at Lisa. Things were looking up for change. A wonderful change.
