Chapter 1: The Thunder Storm and Weapon

Lightning flashed outside, making the great detective, L looked up, trying to refrain from jumping.

'Huh, a storm. There is a 70% change that the power will go out judging by how close the lightning was.' He thought and brought his thumb up to his lips before getting back to work.

"L? Are you listening?" L felt a yank on the chain connecting him and the main suspect of the Kira investigation.

L turned his head to look at Light with a blank expression.

"Yes, Light-kun. You were talking about how annoying the lightning and thunder was, and how it was distracting you." L said and looked back at his computer screen.

"Uh...yeah, so anyway, can we take a brake? We've been working for three hours straight." Light pointed out, ever so slightly annoyed.

"Yes, we can take a brake in...3...2....1." L counted down.

As if on command the lights flickered off, leaving the task force in darkness.

Suddenly there was a clash of thunder and the sound of glass shattering soon fallowed.

Before anyone could do anything there was a scream and a loud thud.

Light could feel the chain being pulled and he instantly grew worried, knowing who the screamed belong to.

"L!" Light yelled before he felt a jolt and everything faded out.

Light woke up to the sound of birds chirping.

He opened his eyes slowly and looked around him expecting to see L lying beside him, staring up at the ceiling, waiting for him to wake up, but was shocked to find out that was not the case.

Looking around Light saw the rest of the task force slowly getting up, but the part that caught his attention that most was that they were no longer in the task force building, no there were in the middle of the woods.

Light slowly got up off of the forest floor and looked around for one person in particular. When his eyes scanned every person and he still could not find the person he was looking for his eyes widened.

"L?" Light asked looking around at the surrounding woods.

By this time everyone had noticed that L was no were to be seen and they too, started calling L's name.

"L?! L where are you?! Come on this isn't funny!" Light yelled as he started to panic.

'Where's L? All I remember was that the lights when off and he started to scream.'

At this Lights eyes widened even more.

"L?! L! Please come out! Please! We're worried!" Light yelled even more worried for the lost detective.

Suddenly there was a rustle from inside the woods and all of the task force members turned to face were it came from.

All they could see were the shadows, but they could tell something was watching them.

"L?" Matsuda asked hopefully, not understanding the 50% chance that the thing in the woods was in fact not L.

Light was about to go and see what it was when suddenly a tall thin figure stepped in front of him.

Light instantly noticed the various weapons attached to the person.

The person had two guns in his hand, two knifes strapped to his thighs, two swords on his back, and a crossbow on his left side.

The man held up the two guns, pointing them towards the shadows.

Light instantly noticed that the mans hand was not shaking one bit, meaning he was familiar with the weapon.

Light was about to examine the man farther but stopped when he heard a growl and the sound of the man firing his gun.

The wolf whimpered when it felt the bullet go into its side and it started running in the other direction.

"Pesky wolves." The man mumbled and put his guns back into there holsters before taking a couple steps forward.

"Hey, wait! Who are you?" Matsuda asked.

The man stopped walking and turned around, shocking everyone.

The man in front of them, was L. But at the same time, he wasn't the L they knew.

The L in front of them had one black eye, the other a light shade of blue. He was wearing a slightly tight silver colored shirt, revealing his muscles.

"My name is, Weapon." The man spoke turning his head slightly to stare at the men in front of him.

"And you must be the task force." The man said and smiled a wide smile.

"H..how do you know that? Where are we and where's L? Why do you look so much like him?" Light asked confused.

Weapon laughed.

"Because silly, I am L well...one of him anyway." Weapon said with a large smile.

"W-what? What do you mean 'one of him?" Matsuda asked confused.

"I mean, I am one of L's emotions. I am one of the people that make L who he is, though, L doesn't let me appear often unless absolutely necessary." Weapon said and pouted slightly.

"When was the last time he let you appear?" Light asked his curiosity taking over.

"Well...the last time I was aloud out was for one of L's first cases. He was at gun point and all he had to defend himself was a knife, so I was aloud to come out to make sure L survived." Weapon explained and pulled out his knife before he started to fiddle with it.

"So...um d-do you know how we got here?" Matsuda asked, nervous about the fact that Weapon was now holding a very lethal weapon.

Weapon looked at Matsuda and seemed to ponder his question before shacking his head.

"I'm afraid I do not." He said sadly before he suddenly perked up.

"But, I know who might." He said before turning around.

"Fallow me, and try to keep up." Weapon said not even bothering to turn around.

Before anyone could say anything, Weapon took off running.
