A Pointless Confrontation

I gently slapped her cheek and smiled. This girl was hopeless. “You have got to tell him, Chelsea.”

“I-Ian, it’s terrifying.”

“Girl, you are a candor.”

“Yes, yes, I know. That doesn’t mean I can’t be afraid to say what’s on my mind.”

She crossed her arms and looked uncomfortably at my bowtie. As she shuffled and tucked her hands underneath her arms, I rolled my eyes and took her shoulders. Shaking her as violently as I could, I watched as she tried to steady her head, and struggled to keep it from snapping off. She was strong, but she really needed to keep it together.

Before I damaged her brain, I stopped shaking her. Didn’t want to dull her out before her confession.

“You’re not supposed to be afraid to say what’s on your mind!”

Chelsea took my arms and pushed them down to my sides. After that, she harshly grabbed my own shoulders, squeezed, and hung her head for a few seconds, before giving me a foul glare.

“Ian, you could have broken my neck.” She spoke sternly with emphasized words and a tense jaw.

I responded with the peppiest tone I had, “But, I didn’t.”

Hearing her growl in frustration made me chuckle. I knew she wouldn’t last in an argument like this, so I waited ‘til she did her little turn.

Whenever she was angry, and new she had already lost, she would walk in a small circle to calm herself down, a little... I don’t know why, she just does.

“Augh. Chelsea, just tell him.”

“No.”

“You’re gonna have to tell him, sooner or later.”

“Later.”

“Sooner.”

“Tomorrow.”

“Now.”

She rubbed her arms, anxiously, and stared intensely, at the pavement. I put my hands on my hips and tried to show her how impatient I was getting. This girl took way too much time making decisions.

Before I was able to speak, she finally made up her mind, “Okay, okay, fine. I’ll do it."

I smirked in glorious victory. Suckerrr.

Before we walked over to the guy’s house, she asked to have a few moments to gain some of that confidence she said she didn’t have. Might as well show mercy, after all this persuasion.

After about 5 minutes, I realized she wasn’t just trying to “gain confidence”, but she was attempting to stall. No one tries to fool Ian McCabe.

Without giving a hint, I made a very high pitched “peep”, watching her as her eyes widened in shock. It’s nothing new, I just needed her to snap outta it.

Before she was able to slap my shoulder, I grabbed her arm and twisted it. Not too hard as to make her beg, but just enough to give her a little warning. I mean, it would be nice to hear her beg, but I felt like being a nice bitch, today.

Chelsea rubbed her arm, with a lot of force. After that, she sighed deeply and gestured for me to come along with her. I followed her out the park’s gates, and walked beside her, as we got on the sidewalk.

Not many people were out, since school was over for a while now. It was mainly me and Chels, passing by all these fancy buildings we called our homes. Most of them were large, white, and simple, with black rooftops, and smoke coming out of the chimney. Some others had neat patterns. There was one house we passed by that had a base color of white, and black swirls printed all around. It was confusing, but pretty amazing.
