His eyes were opened, bright gray orbs that looked like they shone in the dark, but he was not present. Not in the sense of here and now. Not on the physical realm. His essence was not present in his own room, nor this plane of existence. He was deep inside another dimension, fully engaged in it and fully aware.

His body was seated on a red comfy cushion which lay on a wooden floor, a rarity in this place. He breathed slowly, inhaling and exhaling the pleasant air-conditioned oxygen of the room. He was in a small white room, surrounded by white nothingness. No pictures, holograms or windows. The perfect location for traveling between realms. Between this world and the dimension which was referred to as the HiveNet. For him, he was not in this room. He was in an endless tunnel of lights and shadows. He was here, there and everywhere at once. Endless stream of information passed him and swiveled around like a flock of birds in the sky creating indistinct patterns around him. He was floating by, never interfering with the flow, following the Codex. He absorbed the entirety of the information without clinging to any of it. It was his true home. It was the place where his soul lived.

"Elder Orion" a hazy voice cut through his consciousness, making him step-out of the trance and the feeling of freedom. It didn't have a location nor a practical source nor an actual voice. It was just there. It existed. It was.

"Elder Aurelion" he replied with the same manner, not moving his physical lips.

"A new information has reached me on the net. We must meet" the voice of Aurelion implied.

Meeting. Physical meeting. Only the suggestion was enough to indicate it was something too severe to be leaked on the HiveNet. Although the elders always informed the rest of the hive about the current affairs and goals, it was never a wise idea to unravel a problem without offering a solid solution to the populous. People's emotions were not something the elders wanted to toy around with. Presentation was key to success. Especially when problems are involved, and there was no mistake in the river of information senator Donton received now--it was problems indeed.

He shook his awareness, returning part of it to the physical world, our world, and stood from his pillow. It was barely a fracture of his consciousness, but it was enough for him to act. He was a tall man, like most of Venus-born, and his skinny body was making him look like a stretched noodle wearing white robes. His hands were clasped in front of him, creating a connection of his sleeves as a continuous tube of white synthetic cloth. He strolled out of the room and  into his house, the doors opening in front of him as he came too close.

It was a large condo--the complete opposite of the empty and tiny room which barely had enough space to hold the red pillow. The exit from the meditation-chamber was straight to the living-room, where a holographic projector lay on the floor next to a wall, a round glass table stood in the middle of the room and a stretched black sofa made of genuine leather was right in front of it, creating a 'r' shape. The sofa was a rare item. Leather was really hard to get here or on Origin. True leather.

Senator Donton felt attached to the little things. This always made him feel human, even though his appearance made even the most liberal human twitch. All in all, he was the one who always said 'we are all humans after all'. He walked through the living-room, almost floating, and to the outer door of his apartment.

Stepping outside his own door, he floated through the thin corridor to the elevator. His mind, still wondered from the scenery to the HiveNet, absorbing all the information flowing through it while keeping the minimum attention required to the outer-world. The way down and through the lobby was barely noticeable, as he further delved into the network and automatically walked the usual route to his ride. It waited outside with the doors open and ready for him.
